Sinch (album)
''Sinch'' is the first major label release created by the American alternative metal group Sinch, which the band made shortly after being signed to Roadrunner Records. Featuring a deliberately abrasive yet also melodic sound, the album notably includes "Something More", the band's first major single. Background and inspiration The album was produced by Malcolm Springer. He had previously done producing work for bands such as Full Devil Jacket, Matchbox 20, and Collective Soul in the 2000s and late 1990s. Springer also contributed to the album in other ways such as making string arrangements and playing a Wurlitzer. Reviews and reception Music critic Jason D. Taylor, writing for the Allmusic, gave the release a mixed to positive review. Sinch is an American alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. History The alternative rock quartet, Sinch formed in 1994 while its members were attending different high schools in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Doylestown and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, Willow Grove. To the dismay of parents and the bemusement of friends, the members of Sinch made a pact that upon leaving school they would dedicate themselves to the band rather than pursue college or the military. In 1996 the band self-produced its first album titled, ''The Strychnine'', earning it regular live slots along the East Coast of the United States, East Coast. Two years later, Sinch released its second record titled, ''Diatribe'', which gained them further notoriety and won them supporting slots with major record label, major label artists including KoЯn, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park and Chevelle (band), Chevelle. Full Devil Jacket
Full Devil Jacket is an American alternative metal/ nu metal band from Jackson, Tennessee. Formation and success Musicians Josh Brown, Mike Reaves, Kevin Bebout, and Keith Foster all met at Josh Brown's brother's tattoo shop in Jackson, Tennessee and formed the band Voodoo Hippies. Jonathan Montoya was the last addition to the band as the second guitarist. While still playing gigs in Jackson, the band caught the eye of rock producer Malcolm Springer (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul). Before being signed to Island/Def Jam Records, the band changed its name to Full Devil Jacket. There are two stories on how the band chose this name. One is that the band was named after a song written by lead singer Josh Brown, called "Full Devil Jacket". Another story is that the band simply pulled the name from a magazine article. Matchbox Twenty (also known as Matchbox 20 and MB20) is an American rock band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The group currently consists of Rob Thomas (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Brian Yale (bass guitar), Paul Doucette (drums, rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Kyle Cook (lead guitar, vocals). Collective Soul
Collective Soul is an American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of lead vocalist Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, drummer Johnny Rabb, and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett. Formed in 1992, the original lineup consisted of the Roland brothers, Turpin, guitarist Ross Childress, and drummer Shane Evans. Collective Soul released their ''Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid'' album on the independent label Rising Storm Records in 1993. The band went from obscurity to popularity that year after the album's lead single " Shine" received regional radio play. The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, usually referred to as simply Wurlitzer, is an American company started in Cincinnati in 1853 by German immigrant (Franz) Rudolph Wurlitzer. The company initially imported stringed, woodwind and brass instruments from Germany for resale in the United States. Wurlitzer enjoyed initial success, largely due to defense contracts to provide musical instruments to the U.S. military. In 1880, the company began manufacturing pianos and eventually relocated to North Tonawanda, New York. It quickly expanded to make band organs, orchestrions, player pianos and pipe or theatre organs popular in theatres during the days of silent movies. Creed (band)
Creed was an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 1994. For most of its existence, the band consisted of lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. Creed released two studio albums, ''My Own Prison'' in 1997 and ''Human Clay'' in 1999, before Marshall left the band in 2000. The band's third album, ''Weathered'', was released in 2001, with Tremonti on bass guitar. Creed disbanded in 2004; Stapp pursued a solo career while Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips founded the band Alter Bridge with Myles Kennedy.
