Simon Wiggins
Simon Wiggins (born 11 September 1982) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited as the number 15 draft pick in the 2000 AFL Draft from Glenorchy. He made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in Round 5, 2001 against St Kilda. Wiggins has battled with injury and form at his time at Carlton. He only played six games in his debut season, and has never managed to play a full season since suffering knee, shoulder and hamstring injuries as well as some slumps in form. He broke into the Blues' lineup for the last month of the 2005 season. Wiggins is one of the few survivors from the club's 1999–2001 horror recruiting period, despite suffering from severe leg injuries throughout his time on Carlton's list. Glenorchy Football Club
The Glenorchy District Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Tasmanian State League and the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia. History The club is nicknamed the Magpies after its black and white playing strip, and was originally known as New Town Football Club (wearing a green and white strip) when it started out as a member of the Tasmanian Football League in 1919. New Town changed its name to Glenorchy in 1957 after absorbing the already established club Glenorchy Rovers and relocated its headquarters to KGV Oval at Glenorchy in Hobart's northern suburbs in the same year, playing its first match at the venue on 4 May 1957 against Hobart. Patrick Wiggins (footballer)
Patrick Wiggins (born 9 February 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited in the third round of the 1999 AFL Draft, selection number 35 overall, and made his debut in round 15 of the 2000 AFL season, but only managed to play just two games that year. In 2001, he managed just one game against Port Adelaide in Round 6, and in 2002 just one game against Collingwood in round 22. In 2003 he managed to play seven games, including scoring three goals in a match against Melbourne in Round 18. However, after struggling for first team selection, at the end of the 2003 AFL season, he was delisted by the club after playing a total of twelve games and scoring five goals. Loudy Wiggins
Loudy Wiggins (née Tourky) (born 7 July 1979) is a former Australian diver. She was born in Haifa, Israel to Palestinian parents, but moved to Australia when she was 3 years old. Wiggins was a gymnast at the Australian Institute of Sport, then began diving when she was 12 on suggestion from her physiotherapist. Wiggins competed at her first Olympic Games for Diving when she was 17 years old at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. She won bronze in the 10m synchronised platform event at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, becoming the first Australian to win an Olympic medal in diving since Dick Eve in 1924 (with Rebecca Gilmore). She and Rebecca Gilmore were also the first Australian female Olympic diving medallists. She won bronze at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka after a successful year on the Diving Grand Prix circuit and was named Female Australian Diver of the Year. The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted.
