Simon Smith (footballer)
Simon Timothy Gordon Smith (born 16 September 1962) is an English former footballer who previously worked as the head goalkeeping coach for Newcastle United. Playing career Smith began his professional career with Newcastle United in 1978, spending four years there before moving on to Whitley Bay and then Gateshead, where he played 501 games, including a run of 405 games in a row, over a ten-year period. He also signed as a non-contract player for Carlisle United, Sunderland and again Newcastle United. Coaching career Smith returned to Newcastle United in 1993 as a goalkeeping coach, working firstly at the Centre of Excellence and latterly as Academy goalkeeping coach working with goalkeepers from the age of 8–19. In the summer of 1999, Smith became first-team goalkeeping coach working under Ruud Gullit and Sir Bobby Robson. Newton Aycliffe is a town in County Durham (district), County Durham, England. Roy Tunks
Roy William Tunks (born 21 January 1951) is a German-born English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made over 850 appearances in a playing career spanning over twenty years. He was signed for a record fee by Preston North End in 1974 as a goalkeeper from Rotherham United where he was known as the "boy with the golden gloves". He played well over 300 games for Preston North End, and was the club's Player of the Year for the 1979–80 season. He moved to Wigan Athletic in 1981, and was part of the team that won the Associate Members' Cup in 1985. After retiring in 1990, Tunks moved into coaching. LA Galaxy, also known as the Los Angeles Galaxy, are an American professional soccer club based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Frank Yallop
Frank Walter Yallop (born 4 April 1964) is a British-Canadian professional soccer coach. Yallop is currently the head coach and sporting director of USL Championship side Monterey Bay FC. He played 13 years in England for Ipswich, including the club's first three seasons in the Premier League. He also played in Major League Soccer (MLS) for the Tampa Bay Mutiny, and earned 52 caps for the Canada men's national soccer team. He spent a further 13 years as coach in MLS for San Jose Earthquakes, LA Galaxy, and Chicago Fire, as well as 3 years coaching the Canadian men's national team. The Canada U-20 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-20s or Canada U-20s) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. It plays a large role in the development of Canadian soccer, and is considered to be the feeder team for the Canada men's national soccer team.
