Simon Millman
Simon Alexander Millman (born 14 January 1977) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since the 2017 state election, representing Mount Lawley. Millman studied law at the University of Western Australia, and worked as an industrial relations lawyer at Slater and Gordon. The Western Australian Legislative Assembly, or lower house, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Western Australia, an Australian state. City Of Stirling
The City of Stirling is a local government area in the northern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth about north of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of and has a population of over 223,000, making it the largest local government area by population in Western Australia. History Stirling was established on 24 January 1871 as the Perth Road District under the ''District Roads Act 1871''. The district at that time included what are now the Cities of Wanneroo, Joondalup, Bayswater and Belmont. With the passage of the ''Local Government Act 1960'', which reformed all road districts into shires, it became the Shire of Perth on 1 July 1961. The Shire of Perth had a population of 84,000 in 1961. It was declared a city and renamed Stirling on 24 January 1971. Roger Hugh Cook (born 20 August 1965) is an Australian politician who is the current Deputy Premier of Western Australia, under Mark McGowan. He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia since 2008, representing the seat of Kwinana. 2017 Western Australian State Election
The 2017 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 11 March 2017 to elect members to the Parliament of Western Australia, including all 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 36 seats in the Legislative Council. The eight-and-a-half-year two-term incumbent Liberal– WA National government, led by Premier Colin Barnett, was defeated in a landslide by the Labor opposition, led by Opposition Leader Mark McGowan.
