Simon Linsell
Simon Linsell (born 14 September 1994) is an English rugby union player who plays for Ealing Trailfinders in the RFU Championship. Linsell grew up in the Cotswolds and played for his local club, Painswick RFC, his schoolboy career at Marling School based in Stroud led him to the Gloucester Academy and eventually to Hartpury College. He played a limited number of games for Hartpury during the 2013–14 season, helping them win promotion to National League 1 Linsell graduated in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Exeter and while at Exeter, he also skippered their successful BUCS Super Rugby side, fierce rivals of Hartpury's own university team. He since returned to Hartpury, where in August 2018, was named club captain ahead of the 2018–19 season in the RFU Championship. Marling School
Marling School is a grammar school with academy status for boys, with a co-educational Sixth Form located in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. It is on the Cainscross Road, the main route out of Stroud towards the M5, and is situated next to the girls' grammar school, Stroud High School, with which it shares some facilities. History Marling School is the oldest secondary school in Stroud, having been founded in 1887 by Sir Samuel Marling, a local cloth manufacturer and former Liberal Member of Parliament, along with Sir Francis Hyett and Mr S.S. Dickinson. National League 1
National One (last season known as National League 1 and previously known before September 2009 as National Division Two), is the third of three national leagues in the domestic rugby union competition of England. It was known as Courage League National Division Three when founded in 1987. Caldy are the current champions. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) approved a new structure for the National Leagues from the 2022–23 season. This division will be reduced to fourteen teams, playing each other on a home and away basis to make a total of 26 matches each. The champions are promoted to the RFU Championship and the bottom three teams are relegated to either National Two East, National Two North or National Two West depending on the geographical location of the team. The Premiership Rugby Cup is an English rugby union knockout cup competition for teams in Premiership Rugby. It was created in 2018 to replace the Anglo-Welsh Cup after the withdrawal of the Welsh regions. History The Premiership Rugby Cup was created to replace the Anglo-Welsh Cup which had been running since 2005 when the Welsh regions joined the then English-only Powergen Cup. Stroud
Stroud is a market town and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England. It is the main town in Stroud District. The town's population was 13,500 in 2021.
