Simon Holmström
Simon Holmström (born 24 May 2001) is a Swedish professional ice hockey right winger for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 23rd overall by the Islanders in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Holmström first played as a youth in Sweden with hometown club, Tranås AIF, at the under-16 level. While playing beyond his age group through his youth, he was signed to continue his development with the junior teams of HV71 in 2015. He made his professional debut with HV71 during the 2017–18 season, finishing scoreless in a single appearance. In the following 2018–19 season, Holmström scored 7 goals and 20 points in just 21 games with HV71 of the J20 SuperElit. He also split the year in featuring in games for HV71's J18 team and their SHL team. Holmstrom added 3 points in 3 J20 playoff games. New York Islanders
The New York Islanders (colloquially known as the Isles) are a professional ice hockey team based in Elmont, New York. IIHF World U18 Championship
The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship. Bridgeport Sound Tigers
The Bridgeport Islanders are a professional ice hockey team based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They are the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, who own the franchise. The team started in 2001–02 season and was purchased by the Islanders in 2004. The team plays their home games at the Total Mortgage Arena. 2019–20 AHL Season
The 2019–20 AHL season was the 84th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began October 4, 2019, and was officially cancelled on May 11, 2020. The 2020 Calder Cup playoffs, which was also cancelled, would have followed the conclusion of the regular season. The league suspended play on March 12, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America, and was not able to resume play. The Milwaukee Admirals claimed the league's regular-season trophy, the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy, their second regular-season championship. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar.
