Simon Gougnard
Simon Pierre F. Gougnard (born 17 January 1991) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Racing and the Belgium national team. Club career Gougnard played club hockey in Belgium for the Waterloo Ducks until 2009, when he transferred to the Netherlands to play for TMHC Tilburg. He left them after one season to play for Oranje Zwart. In 2012, he returned to Belgium because of his study. He played in Belgium for Racing Bruxelles. In 2013, Gougnard went back to the Netherlands, where he signed a two-year contract for Bloemendaal. He played for Bloemendaal until 2015, when he returned to Racing Bruxelles. In 2017, he went back to the Waterloo Ducks. In April 2019, he agreed to play for Leuven from the 2019–20 season onwards. During that year's Euro Hockey League, Gougnard's Waterloo Ducks became the first Belgian club to win the Euro Hockey League. After two seasons, he left Leuven for Dragons in 2021. 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup
The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup will be the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. It will be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and at the 20,000 seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from 13 to 29 January 2023. ''Eindhovens Dagblad'' is a daily Dutch newspaper based in the city of Eindhoven. In 2017 it had a circulation of about 80,000. History ''Eindhovensch Dagblad'' first appeared on 23 December 1911. In 1963 it was bought by the owner of its competitor ''Oost-Brabant''. The two papers merged and continued under the Eindhovensch Dagblad name. A year later the ''Nieuwe Eindhovense Krant'' also merged into this newspaper which had a minor change in its name due to a change in Dutch spelling: ''Eindhovens Dagblad''. The 2010 Men's EuroHockey Junior Championship was the 15th edition of the men's EuroHockey Junior Championship, the biennial international men's under-21 field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. The Men's EuroHockey U21 Championship is a men's international under-21 field hockey tournament organized by the European Hockey Federation. The tournament has been held since 1977 and serves as a qualification tournament for the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup. In June 2023, the tournament was renamed from the Men's EuroHockey Junior Championship to the Men's EuroHockey U21 Championship. Competition format The tournament usually comprises 8 teams, while some editions have featured more and less. Teams are split into two pools, playing in a round-robin format. The 2014–15 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the second season of the men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in July 2014 in Sveti Ivan Zelina, Croatia and finished in December 2015 in Raipur, India. The Semifinals of this competition also served as a qualifier for the 2016 Summer Olympics as the 6 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualified. Men's FIH Hockey World League
The Men's FIH Hockey World League was an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation. The league also served as a qualifier for the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups and the 2016 Olympic Games. Three seasons were held in 2012–13, 2014–15 and 2016-17. It was replaced by the new Men's FIH Pro League and Hockey Series in 2018-19. Format The tournament featured four rounds. For each edition the FIH decides the number of events and teams for each round. The number of Round 1 events varied in each cycle depending on the number of participating national teams. The 2021 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 18th edition of the Men's EuroHockey Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. The tournament was held alongside the women's tournament at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands and was originally scheduled to take place from 20 to 29 August 2021. However, following the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to July and August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled and took place from 4 to 13 June 2021.
