Simon Davies is a British privacy advocate and academic from Australia, formerly based in London, UK. Davies was one of the first campaigners in the field of international privacy advocacy, founding the watchdog organisation Privacy International in 1990 and subsequently working in emerging areas of privacy such as electronic visual surveillance, identity systems, border security, encryption policy and biometrics. In July 2008 Davies criticised the Stranton landmark ''Viacom vs. Google & YouTube'' ruling, stating the privacy of millions of YouTube users was threatened: 'The chickens have come home to roost for Google. Their arrogance and refusal to listen to friendly advice has resulted in the privacy of tens of millions being placed under threat. Simon Ithel Davies (born 23 April 1974) is a Welsh professional association football, football coach and former player who is currently the Head of Coaching Methodology at Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Under-23s and Academy, Tottenham Hotspur's academy. As a player, he was a midfielder who notably played in the Premier League for Manchester United F.C., Manchester United, where he was part of the Fergie's Fledglings#The 1990s Fledglings, famous 1992 youth team. Simon Davies (born 23 October 1979) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a winger. Davies started his career at Peterborough United before playing for Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Fulham, earning a runner-up medal during the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League with Fulham. Davies made more than 350 appearances at senior club level in England, along with earning 58 caps for the Welsh national team. He was most recently the assistant manager of Crawley Town. Simon Davies (born 7 May 1957) is a Welsh television presenter actor and writer, hailing from Cardiff, South Wales. He is married to Laura Jeffery. He presented the BBC television programme ''Tikkabilla'', has been on '' Corners'' (1989) television series as himself, and narrated the second series of ''Our Planet'' shown on CBeebies in 2006. Simon Davies (born 1967) is a British lawyer and businessman. He was appointed as the youngest ever firmwide managing partner at Linklaters in 2008. In 2016, he moved to Lloyds Banking Group to become the chief people, legal and strategy officer and a member of the group's executive committee. Career Davies joined Linklaters as a trainee in their London office in 1990 and became partner in 1999. He spent 12 years in Asia, specialising in M&A and Securities advice serving terms in each of Hong Kong and Tokyo. Davies was Managing Partner for Asia from 2003 to 2007. He was then appointed as Firmwide Managing Partner in February 2007 and took up the role in January 2008. At the age of 39, he was the youngest ever person to hold this position.
