Simon Clark (novelist)
Simon Clark (born 20 April 1958) is a horror novelist from Doncaster, England. He is the author of the novel ''The Night of the Triffids'', the novella ''Humpty's Bones'', and the short story ''Goblin City Lights'', which have all won awards. Most of his stories are based in Yorkshire, his home county. He also uses a technique that he calls "The Art of Wandering". The idea for ''Goblin City Lights'' arose from wandering in a London graveyard. Biography Simon Clark was born on 20 April 1958 in Doncaster, England. He is married and has two children. Clark began his career writing stories for fanzines. One of these was the semiprozine ''Back Brain Recluse'' (BBR). His first published collection of stories was ''Blood And Grit'', published by BBR in 1990. In 1994 an editor named Nick Austin at Hodder Headline bought both ''Nailed by the Heart'' and ''Blood Crazy''. An agent agreed to represent Clark. Simon Clark (born 20 August 1960) is a British television sports presenter and correspondent primarily on the television programme, ''Look North''. Before 2002 he worked for the BBC in Leeds and listeners in South Yorkshire remember him as the sports presenter for BBC Radio Sheffield. He worked there from 1991 to 1997. He also broadcast at Radio Hallam FM from 1988 to 1991 having started his career in the late 1970s at Kingstown Radio. before moving onto Viking Radio in Hull when it launched in 1984. In 1994 he had his first daughter shortly followed by the second in 1998. In 2006 he hosted a pre-match event before every FIFA World Cup game involving England, at the BBC Big Screen in Hull. His reports can occasionally be heard on ''Final Score'', BBC One's football results programme, on every Saturday during the football season. Simon Clark (Australian Footballer)
Simon Clark (born 16 February 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Clark was a ruckman, recruited to Richmond from Notting Hill. He made 27 league appearances for Richmond, 12 in 1986, 11 in 1987 and four in 1988. Following his career at Richmond, Clark played for Springvale in the Victorian Football Association, later the Victorian Football League. He made an immediate impression at Springvale in 1989, with a best and fairest and fourth placing in the J. J. Liston Trophy. In the 1992 VFA season he finished equal second behind Joe Rugolo in the Liston Trophy, then in 1993 was equal third. He was a member of Springvale's 1995 premiership team, in the final season of VFA football and would be involved in three further premierships. Simon Clark (born 12 March 1967) is an English former professional footballer. He is currently the Lead Coach of the Under-18's AFC Wimbldeon Academy team. As a player, he turned out for Lincoln City, Boston Town, Holbeach United, King's Lynn, Hendon, Stevenage Borough, Peterborough United, Leyton Orient, Colchester United and Maldon Town. He has also spent time as manager of Singaporean side Woodlands Wellington where he was also a player and Leyton. In 2009, he briefly took over as caretaker manager of Football League Two side Lincoln City. Andy Clark (musician)
Simon Andrew Clark is an English keyboard and synthesizer player best known for working alongside guitarist Bill Nelson in art rock band Be-Bop Deluxe and their synthpop offshoot Red Noise. One of his earlier involvements in music was as member of a progressive rock band from Sheffield, Yorkshire, called Mother's Pride. Life and career Clark's original involvement with Be Bop Deluxe was as keyboardist for the band's live concerts in 1975. He could not work for them in the recording of their second album ''Futurama'', because he was still maintaining contractual relationship with Mother's Pride. Shortly after, he joined, recording with them the next three studio albums, '' Sunburst Finish'' (1976), '' Modern Music'' (1977) and ''Drastic Plastic'' (1978), as well as the live album, , before their disbandment.
