Anna "Annie" Simms Banks (1862–1923) was an American educator and political figure born in Brandenburg, Kentucky, Brandenburg, Kentucky. On March 3, 1920, Anna became the first African-American female elected as a delegate at the Kentucky's 7th congressional district, 7th Congressional District Republican Party (United States), Republican Convention in Kentucky, a time when women in Kentucky could vote for President but did not have full suffrage. Banks was appointed a member of the Rules Committee. She taught in Louisville and later died in Winchester, Kentucky, Winchester, Kentucky. Colin Simms (born 1939) is a British biologist, curator and poet. Career Biologist and curator Simms was appointed Keeper of Biology at the Yorkshire Museum in 1964. He held this position until 1982. Poet Simms has produced several collections, and more than forty pamphlets, of poetry, inspired by wildlife and the natural world. These varied works were collected into a series of publications, organised by the subject, by Shearsman Books. The first publication was ''Otters and Martens'' in 2004, followed by ''The American Poems'' (2005), ''Gyrfalcon Poems'' (2007), ''Poems from Afghanistan'' (2013), and ''Hen Harrier Poems''. Leonard Archibald (Len) Simms (born October 23, 1943) is a Canadian politician from Newfoundland and Labrador. He was the Progressive Conservative Member of the House of Assembly for Grand Falls-Windsor-Buchans from 1979 to 1995. From 2005 until 2014, Simms was chairman and chief executive officer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, a provincial crown corporation. He served as Speaker of the House of Assembly from 1979 to 1982 when he was appointed to the provincial cabinet of Premier Brian Peckford. Larry Lee Simms (October 1, 1934 – June 17, 2009) was an American child actor who appeared in 36 films between 1937 and 1951. Life and career Larry Simms was born October 1, 1934. He worked as a child model from the age of two and was discovered by a Hollywood talent scout when he appeared in a 1937 Saturday Evening Post advertisement. His first film was ''The Last Gangster'' (1937), where he played Edward G. Robinson's young son. Simms became known for his appearances as Alexander "Baby Dumpling" Bumstead in the popular '' Blondie'' film series starring Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake. Between 1938 and the end of the series in 1950, Simms appeared as Alexander in 28 films earning at one point $750 a week. George Otto Simms (4 July 1910 – 15 November 1991) was an archbishop in the Church of Ireland. Early life and education George Otto Simms was born on 4 July 1910 in North Dublin in Ireland to parents John Francis A Simms & Ottilie Sophie Stange both from Lifford, County Donegal, as per his birth Certificate. He also attended the Prior School in Lifford for a time and also attended Cheltenham College, a public school in the United Kingdom. He went on to study at Trinity College Dublin, where in 1930 he was elected a Scholar and graduated with a B.A. in classics in 1932 and a B.D in 1936. He later completed a Ph.D. in 1950. Ernest Simms (23 July 1891 – 11 October 1971) was an English footballer, who was best known as a Luton Town centre forward. He was the first forward to play for England while playing for a Third Division club. Career Luton Town Simms was born in Easington, County Durham, and after playing for local clubs, South Shields Adelaide and Murton Colliery Welfare, he joined Barnsley in 1912, before moving south to join Luton Town in the summer of 1913. Simms joined the British Army at the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, joining the Football Battalion, a unit made up of professional footballers which was attached to the Middlesex Regiment. He was discharged in 1915 and re-enlisted with the Royal Field Artillery. During the war he suffered a savage disabling leg wound which left him with serious muscle damage and a permanent limp.
