KW Studios Ltd. (formerly SimBin Studios and Sector3 Studios) is a Sweden, Swedish video game video game developer, developer and video game publisher, publisher. It was founded in 2003, and it develops sim racing, racing simulators for Microsoft Windows, Windows PC, with its headquarters in Lidköping, Sweden. The company originally started as a modding team for the Image Space Incorporated game ''F1 2002 (video game), F1 2002'', releasing a mod based on the 2002 season of the FIA GT championship, essentially the precursor to its first commercial game. Eidos Interactive Limited (formerly Domark Limited) was a British video game publisher based in Wimbledon, London. Among its franchises were '' Championship Manager'', '' Deus Ex'', ''Hitman'', '' Thief'' and ''Tomb Raider''. Domark was founded by Mark Strachan and Dominic Wheatley in 1984. ''GTR 2 – FIA GT Racing Game'' is a sports car racing simulator developed by Blimey! Games and SimBin Studios (later Sector3 Studios and KW Studios) and published by 10tacle Publishing in 2006 for the x86 PC. The game is a sequel to '' GTR''. Sim Racing
Sim racing is the collective term for racing games that attempt to accurately simulate auto racing, complete with real-world variables such as fuel usage, damage, tire wear and grip, and suspension settings. To be competitive in sim racing, a driver must understand all aspects of car handling that make real-world racing so difficult, such as threshold braking, how to maintain control of a car as the tires lose traction, and how properly to enter and exit a turn without sacrificing speed. It is this level of difficulty that distinguishes sim racing from arcade racing-style driving games where real-world variables are taken out of the equation and the principal objective is to create a sense of speed as opposed to a sense of realism like the Need for Speed series. GTR – FIA GT Racing Game
''GTR – FIA GT Racing Game'' is a sports car racing simulator developed by SimBin Studios AB (later Sector3 Studios and KW Studios) and published by 10tacle Publishing for the x86 PC in 2005. Simbin has also released an "add-on pack" called "Kings of Ovals" which contains a set of new oval-style tracks. The game uses the engine that was used for '' Sports Car GT'' (1999). A sequel, ''GTR 2 – FIA GT Racing Game'', was released in 2006. Reception GameSpot said: "Despite its blemishes, ''GTR'' is the breath of fresh air this genre so badly needed". Volvo S60
The Volvo S60 is a compact executive car manufactured and marketed by Volvo since 2000. The first generation (2000–2009) was launched in autumn of 2000 in order to replace the S70 and was based on the P2 platform, and the similarly designed estate version, the Volvo V70. A high-performance engine and sports-oriented suspension version called S60 R was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2002. Styling cues were taken from the ECC concept car and the S80. ''Volvo – The Game'' is a free racing simulation video game for Microsoft Windows, developed by SimBin Studios (later KW Studios) and released on May 26, 2009. The game was developed with the intention of showcasing the interior and exterior of Volvo cars, and as such was released free of charge. When the game launched, Volvo organized an online competition, and the winner received a set of Pirelli tires. Gameplay ''Volvo – The Game'' includes six cars from Volvo and two race tracks. Cars include the Volvo C30, S60, S40, 850 and the 240 Turbo Group A. The race tracks are the Gothenburg Eco Drive Arena and Autodrome Chaika.
