Silvio Spann
Silvio Spann (born 21 August 1981) is a Trinidad and Tobagonian footballer who played professionally in countries including Italy, Japan, Croatia and England. Spann is a midfielder. He is the son of Leroy Spann, former Trinidad and Tobago national team player who currently coaches a youth football team, the Middlesex Phantoms, in the MAPLE league in Massachusetts. Club career Spann has played in Italy, for Perugia and Sambenedettese. His move to Japan occurred after he failed to get a work permit in England, where Derby County and Crystal Palace were both interested in him. Spann's contract with Japanese club Yokohama FC finished just before the 2006 World Cup, forcing him to return home where he re-signed for W Connection. Couva
Couva is an urban town (48,858 in 2011 census) in west-central Trinidad, south of Port of Spain and Chaguanas and north of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, San Fernando and Point Fortin. Trinidad And Tobago Cup
The Trinidad and Tobago FA Trophy, is the premier knockout tournament for teams in Trinidad and Tobago that is open to all clubs affiliated with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association. The FA Trophy is the oldest football competition in Trinidad and Tobago, dating back to 1927 when Shamrock claimed the inaugural trophy. Since the competition involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for ' giant-killers' from the lower divisions of eliminating top clubs from the tournament and even theoretically win the trophy, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The trophy is currently contested each December through March following the National Super League season and the first round of matches in the TT Pro League. The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which had won the right to host the event in July 2000. Teams representing 198 national football associations from all six populated continents participated in the qualification process which began in September 2003. Thirty-one teams qualified from this process along with hosts Germany for the finals tournament. Dennis William Lawrence CM (born 1 August 1974) is a Trinidad and Tobago former professional footballer and current first-team coach at Coventry City. He was the manager of the Trinidad and Tobago national team from 2017 to 2019. Prior to coaching, he had a successful playing career in England, Wales and Trinidad and Tobago. He lifted the Caribbean Cup with the Soca Warriors and won several cup competitions with Wrexham before winning a league title with Swansea City. Before moving to Everton, he had coached for three years at Wigan Athletic during which time he became the first Trinidadian to win the FA Cup.
