Silvia Richards
Silvia Richards (born Silvia Hope Goodenough) was an American screenwriter who worked on a number of films in the 1940s and 1950s, including the film noir ''Ruby Gentry'' and the Western (genre), Western ''Rancho Notorious''. She also wrote for television in the 1950s and early 1960s. Origins Richards was born in Indianola, Iowa, to Aubrey Goodenough and Gertrude Pearl. She attended high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She married Robert L. Richards in 1938 in Alexandra, Virginia. The two lived in New York for a time, where their son David was born; they'd eventually move to Hollywood to launch careers as screenwriters. HUAC hearings Richards' work was interrupted by the McCarthy Hearings. She was called in as a friendly witness for HUAC but claimed that she went along with HUAC because she feared for the well-being of her two young sons. Indianola is a city in Warren County, Iowa, United States, located south of downtown Des Moines, Iowa. The population was 15,833 at the time of the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Warren County. Indianola is home to the National Balloon Classic, a nine-day hot air balloon festival held annually in the summer, the Des Moines Metro Opera, a world renowned major American Summer Opera Festival, and Simpson College. Ronald Bergan (né Ginsberg, 2 November 1937 – 23 July 2020) was a South African-born British writer and historian. He was contributor to ''The Guardian'' (from 1989) and lecturer on film and other subjects as well as the author (or co-author) of several books including biographies. The Battle of Powder River, also known as the Reynolds Battle, occurred on March 17, 1876, in Montana Territory, United States. The attack on a Cheyenne Indian encampment by Colonel Joseph J. Reynolds initiated the Great Sioux War of 1876. Although destroying a large amount of Indian property, the attack was poorly carried out and probably solidified Lakota Sioux and northern Cheyenne resistance to the U.S. attempt to force them to sell the Black Hills and live on a reservation.
