Silvia Gašparovičová ''née Beníková'' (born 13 January 1941) was the First Lady of Slovakia from 2004 to 2014 as wife of former President Ivan Gašparovič. Early life Gašparovičová attended the Slovak Technical University from 1960 until 1965 where she studied civil engineering and also from 1971 to 1973 she studied economical law at Comenius University. She worked at the Ministry of Construction from 1971 until 1991. In 1992 she was appointed to a position of expert real estate appraiser at the Bratislava Municipal Court, which she did not hold for long. She was a private construction company's executive before her husband was elected national president. The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order. Sonja (born Sonja Haraldsen on 4 July 1937) is Queen of Norway since 17 January 1991 as the wife of King Harald V. Sonja and the then Crown Prince Harald had dated for nine years prior to their marriage in 1968. They had kept their relationship a secret due to the controversy of Sonja's status as a commoner. Harald had told his father, King Olav V, that he would remain unmarried if his father did not grant consent to marry Sonja. Upon their marriage, Sonja became crown princess and later the queen of Norway upon her husband's accession to the throne in 1991. Irena Schusterová (12 November 1937 – 24 May 2008) was a Slovak dietician who served as First Lady of Slovakia from 1999 until 2004 during the presidency of her husband, Rudolf Schuster. Biography Schusterová was born Irena Trojáková on 12 November 1937 in Bobrov, Czechoslovakia, to a peasant family. She graduated at the Secondary Medical School (''Strednej zdravotnej škole'') in Bratislava. Schusterová then worked as a dietician and dietary nurse for 33 years. While studying in Bratislava, Irena Schusterová met her future husband, Rudolf Schuster, who was working as a scientist at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The couple married in 1961.
