Silver Wolf Award (Norwegian Guide And Scout Association)
The Silver Wolf (Norwegian: Sølvulven) is the highest award made by the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association "for services of the most exceptional character." The award consists of a Silver Wolf suspended from a blue and green neck ribbon. Recipients may wear the corresponding square knot, with a green strand over a blue strand, on their uniform. The Norwegian Silver Wolf was first awarded by the Norwegian Boy Scout Association in 1915. When the Boy Scout Association and Girl Guide Association merged in 1978, the Silver Wolf Award was discontinued, but in 1998 the merged Norwegian Guide and Scout Association restarted awarding the Silver Wolf. Norwegian Guide And Scout Association
The Norwegian Guide and Scout Association ( no, Norges Speiderforbund, NSF) is a Norwegian Scouting and Guiding association founded in its present form in 1978, when the ''Norwegian Boy Scout Organization'' (founded in 1911 and among the charter members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922) and the ''Norwegian Girl Guide Organization'' (founded in 1921 and an early member of World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) merged. NSF is a member of Speidernes Fellesorganisasjon, the national Scouting and Guiding federation of Norway. NSF is also a member of WOSM and WAGGGS. The Bronze Wolf Award is bestowed by the World Scout Committee (WSC) to acknowledge "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement". It is the highest honor that can be given a volunteer Scout leader in the world and it is the only award given by the WSC. Since the award's creation in 1935, fewer than 400 of the several millions of Scouts throughout the world have received the award. The Silver Fish Award is the highest adult award in Girlguiding. It is awarded for outstanding service to Girlguiding combined with service to world Guiding. The award has changed greatly since it first appeared in 1911, initially being awarded to girls on completion of a number of badges, then via numerous stages to the highest award in the Guiding movement worldwide, and then on to its position as a Girlguiding award. The Silver Wolf (Swedish: Silvervargen) is the highest award made by Swedish Scouting, to active leaders at the national level for exceptionally meritorious work. The award consists of a stylized silver wolf with a fleur-de-lis with the words "Scouterna", suspended from a turquoise neck ribbon. The Silver Wolf will be distributed by someone who already holds the award. The Silver Wolf was established in 1920 for extraordinary contributions to Scouting. The original badge also meant that apart from being first-class, the Scout also passed tests for first aid and another 15 specific merit badges.
