Silver Tower (Abu Dhabi)
Silver Tower is a 120m tall building which was in 2006 the 16th tallest in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. Silver Tower or HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Tower was built circa 1990 by Cassia and Associates. It used to be on the main Corniche Road, but with the reconstruction of the Corniche recently, the road next to Silver Tower is now called Corniche Lane. The building's first four levels are for office use by Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and the rest of the floors from 5 to 29 (29 is the Penthouse) are residential. Internal Design *From the 20th floor to the 28th, the flat numbers arranged are at a different order and orientation from those from the 5th floor to the 19th. *The mosaics designs on each lobby contain of white, blue and purple hexagons. *Each lobby has 6 light switches. Dale Brown
Dale Brown (born 2 November 1956) is an American writer and aviator known for aviation techno-thriller novels. At least thirteen of his novels have been ''New York Times'' Best Sellers. Early life Brown was born in Buffalo, New York, and was one of six children. At 15, he began flying instruction, eventually earning a private pilot's license. He graduated in 1978 from Penn State University with a degree in Western European history. Career Military Brown joined the Air Force ROTC while in college. He received a commission in the United States Air Force in 1978. He was a navigator- bombardier (now known as a weapon systems officer (WSO)) in the B-52G Stratofortress long-range heavy bomber and the FB-111A Aardvark medium range fighter-bomber. Brown received several military decorations and awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Combat Crew Award, and the Marksmanship ribbon. Silver Towers
The Silver Towers are twin residential buildings in the Hell's Kitchen (also referred to as Clinton) neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The 60-story buildings stand on the west side of Eleventh Avenue between 41st Street and 42nd Street near the Hudson River and contain 1,359 units. The towers are tied with 599 Lexington Avenue as the 98th tallest buildings in New York. The project includes a pool, the largest in a New York City residential building, as well as a quarter-acre public park on the west side of the towers. The Silver Towers were completed in June 2009. Larry Silverstein, who developed the buildings, bought the block between 42nd and 41st Streets between 11th and 12th Avenues in 1984 for $20 million. At the time, the site was vacant and zoned for single story industrial use. The block was rezoned in 1989, and One River Place, a 41-story residential high-rise, opened on the west end in 2000.
