The Silver State Legacy was a team of the Women's Football Alliance that began play in 2011. Based in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, the Legacy played its home games at Legacy High School. The Legacy was one of two WFA teams in Las Vegas, the other being the Las Vegas Showgirlz. Women's Football Alliance
The Women's Football Alliance (WFA) is a professional full-contact Women's American football tackle minor league that began play in 2009. It is the largest 11-on-11 football league for women in the world, and the longest running active women's football league in the U.S. Since 2016, the league has operated with three competitive levels: Pro, Division 2 and Division 3. The league is owned and operated by Jeff King and Lisa Gibbons King of Exeter, California. Lisa King is also a wide receiver for the WFA's, Los Angeles Warriors. In addition to operating annual national championship seasons in the United States, the league also operates the WFA International Program which organizes international competitions for its own Team United and Team World against each other and all-star teams from other nations. The So Cal Scorpions were a semi-pro women's American football team based in San Diego, California. In 2011, they played in the Women's Football Alliance after five seasons in the defunct Women's Professional Football League, The ownership brought the team to a spring league. Legacy High School is a high school in North Las Vegas, Nevada that opened in 2006. It is part of the Clark County School District, The school opened with an enrollment of 1,820 and currently has an enrollment of 2,980. Legacy High School describes itself as a Global Studies school, offering eight different sections of foreign language (French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, Sign language and Spanish). When the school opened during the 2006-07 school year, Legacy offered Arabic as one of its world languages courses, the first high school in Nevada to do so. The program has since been discontinued.
