IT Valley ( tr, Bilişim Vadisi), formerly known as Silicon Valley of Turkey (Turkish: ''Türkiye'nin Silikon Vadisi'') was a proposed project of Turkish architect Günay Erdem and Turkish landscape architect Sunay Erdem for the Turkish version of the Silicon Valley at San Francisco, United States.] Concept and design Erdem used cosmos and technology concepts together with traditional Turkish values at design development process. Cosmos reflects as symbolic radial grid of the Solar System and planetary forms to the buildings. Technology reflects as digital grid in organization schema of design. Gebze
Gebze (,) is a district in Kocaeli Province, Turkey. It is situated 65 km (30 mi) southeast of Istanbul, on the Gulf of Izmit, the eastern arm of the Sea of Marmara. Gebze is the largest district per population size in the province as of 2020-exceeding İzmit, the provincial capital. Gebze has experienced rapid growth in recent years, from 159,116 residents in 1990 to 392.945 in 2020. Günay Erdem
Günay Erdem (born 18 April 1978) is a Turkish Architect (graduated) and self-taught landscape architect. Günay Erdem together with his brother Sunay Erdem leads architectural and urban design practice Erdem Architects which they founded in 1998. Differently from majority of other architects and landscape architects Günay Erdem dissolves the boundaries of these two disciplines in his designs. Using this interdisciplinary approach Günay Erdem‘s both architectural and urban designs gains unique innovative characteristics. Sunay Erdem
Sunay Erdem (born 17 March 1971) is a Turkish landscape architect (by degree) and self-taught architect. He is one of Turkey's most prolific and best Landscape architects of his generation. Sunay Erdem founded Erdem Architects with his brother, Günay Erdem, in 1998. Sunay Erdem designed many urban design projects in more than 40 different countries. Erdem has been using free-hand sketching method since 1992 and he has more than 700 free-hand perspectives. His water colored sketch won the first prize i2013 Sketch Showdown Competition, Mixed Mediawhich was organized by Philadelphia Center for Architecture. He won Turkish National Architecture Award in the category Presentation of Ideas (2010).
