Sikka Regency
Sikka is a regency within East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, on the island of Flores. It covers an area of 1,731.91 km2 and had a population of 300,301 at the 2010 census and 321,953 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 324,252. The capital is the town of Maumere, which comprises the districts of Alok Barat, Alok and Alok Timur (although the last two also include a number of notable islands to the north of Flores). A regency ( id, kabupaten), sometimes incorrectly referred to as a district, is an administrative division of Indonesia, directly under a province and on the same level with city (''kota''). Telephone Numbers In Indonesia
Telephone numbers in Indonesia have different systems for land lines and mobile phones: land lines use area codes, while mobile phones do not. For land line area codes, the digit "0" is added in front when dialing domestic long distance from within Indonesia, but is always omitted when calling from abroad. The 1992 Flores earthquake and tsunami occurred on December 12 on the island of Flores in Indonesia. Paluweh, also known as Rokatenda, is a stratovolcano that forms the small island of Palu'e, north of Flores Island in Sikka Regency in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. While the volcano rises about above the sea floor, its cone rises just above sea level and is the highest point on the island. The broad summit region contains overlapping craters up to wide along with several lava domes. Babi Island (Flores)
Babi Island ( id, Pulau Babi, literally Pig Island) is an island located off the coast of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The 1992 Flores earthquake and tsunami are estimated to have killed 263 to 700 residents of the island, with most of the destruction on the southern end of the island. Layout Babi is a roughly circular island less than in diameter located to the north of Flores. Its maximum height above sea level is . Its north end is bordered by a wide coral reef and faces the Flores Sea. Palu'e
Palu'e Island (often referred to as ''Palu Island'') is located north of Flores Island in the Flores Sea. It is part of Lesser Sunda Islands. Palu'e island is under the administrative region of Sikka regency of East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. The island has an area of 41 km² and population of 9,497 people (at the 2020 Census) in eight mountain villages. There are no roads or vehicles on the island. Palu'e can be reached from Maumere, a city in Flores, which takes six hours by wooden motorboat. The language spoken on the island is the Polynesian language Paluwe. Maumere
Maumere is the administrative seat of the Sikka Regency and the second-largest town (after Ende) on Flores Island, Indonesia. It lies on the north coast of the island and the port is in the north-west part of the town.
