Sigvard Bernadotte
Sigvard Oscar Fredrik, Prince Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg (7 June 1907 – 4 February 2002) born as, and until 1934 known as, Prince Sigvard of Sweden, Duke of Uppland, was a member of the Swedish Royal Family and a successful industrial designer by profession. He was the second son of the future King Gustaf VI Adolf and his first wife, Princess Margaret of Connaught, eldest daughter of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and granddaughter of Britain's Queen Victoria. He was a Prince of Sweden from birth, but was excluded from the line of succession in 1934 when he married a woman of unequal rank, a violation of provisions prohibiting marriages between a Prince and a "private man's daughter" ( sv, enskild mans dotter), in force at the time, contained in both the 1809 Instrument of Government and the 1810 Act of Succession, and, in addition, he lost his princely and ducal titles as decided by the King in Council. Sigvard Arne Eklund (19 June 1911 Р30 January 2000) was Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency from 1961 to 1981. Career Eklund was born in Kiruna, Norrbotten County, Sweden, the son of train driver Severin Eklund and his wife Vilhelmina (n̩e Pettersson). Eklund obtained his Master of Science degree in 1936, a Licentiate of Philosophy (fil.lic.) degree in 1941 and a Doctor of Philosophy (fil.dr.) degree from Uppsala University in 1946. He was Docent in nuclear physics at the Royal Institute of Technology and an employee of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences Institute of Physics (''Vetenskapsakademiens forskningsinstitut f̦r fysik'') from 1937 to 1945. John Sigvard "Sigge" Ericsson (17 July 1930 – 2 November 2019) was a Swedish speed skater. He competed at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and won a gold and a silver medal in 1956. Sigvard Gustav Emanuel "Sigge" Hultcrantz (22 May 1888 – 4 March 1955) was a Swedish sport shooter who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. In 1920 he won the silver medal as member of the Swedish team in the team free pistol competition and in the team small-bore rifle event. He also participated in the individual free pistol competition and in the individual small-bore rifle event but for both contests his exact place is unknown. At the time of the 1920 Olympics Hultcrantz was lieutenant in the Swedish coast artillery. Sigvard I. Sivertsen (27 February 1881 – 27 December 1963) was a Norwegian gymnast who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics and in the 1912 Summer Olympics. As a member of the Norwegian team, he won a silver medal in the gymnastics team event in 1908.
