Sigurd Verdal
Sigurd Verdal (4 June 1927 – 27 August 2010 ) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. Verdal was born in Eiken. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Vest-Agder Vest-Agder (; "West Agder") was one of 18 counties (''fylker'') in Norway up until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Aust-Agder to form Agder county. Eiken, Norway
Eiken is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1916 until its dissolution in 1963. It was located in the northern half of the present-day municipality of Hægebostad in what is now Agder county. The administrative centre was the village of Eiken where Eiken Church is located. The municipality included the far northern end of the Lyngdalen valley from the lake Lygne to the mountains in the north. Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Eiken'' farm ( non, Æke). The name of the farm means "oak tree". Vest-Agder
Vest-Agder (; "West Agder") was one of 18 counties (''fylker'') in Norway up until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Aust-Agder to form Agder county. Audnedal
Audnedal is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Konsmo. Other villages in Audnedal include Byremo and Vivlemo. The municipality existed from 1964 until its dissolution in 2020 when Audnedal was merged into the neighboring municipality of Lyngdal in what is now Agder county. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 302nd largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Audnedal was the 341st most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,765.
