Sigríður Hagalín
Sigríður Hagalín (7 December 1926 – 26 December 1992) was an Icelandic actress. She gained global popularity for her portrayal of Stella in the 1991 film Children of Nature. She was nominated for European Film Award for Best Actress and the film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film's Oscar. Career She marked her debut in Icelandic film industry in 1941. She became one of the top actresses in the 1950s. In 1991, she appeared in the globally acclaimed film Children of Nature. It is the only Icelandian film ever to be nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. For her role Stella, she was internationally praised and was nominated for European Film Award for Best Actress in 1991 at the age of 65. References

''Children of Nature'' ( is, Börn náttúrunnar) is a 1991 Icelandic film directed by Friðrik Þór Friðriksson. It was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar at the 64th Academy Awards, the only Icelandic film to have ever been nominated. Plot Þorgeir, an old man living in the Icelandic countryside, has grown too old to continue running his farm, and is made to feel unwelcome in his daughter and son-in-law's urban dwelling. Dumped into a home for the elderly in Reykjavík, he meets an old girlfriend from his youth, and they elope to the wilds of Iceland to die together. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang.
