Sidney Jordan
Sid Jordan (August 12, 1889 – September 30, 1970) was an American film actor. Biography Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1889, Jordan was introduced to acting through his close friend Tom Mix, when both men were serving as the "Night Marshalls" of Dewey, Oklahoma. Ironically, it was Sid Jordan's father (Col. John Jordan) who helped Sid and Tom Mix obtain their jobs as Night Marshalls, as John Jordan was Sheriff of Washington County, Oklahoma. Sid and Tom made their first film together in Oklahoma, then starred in many films together in Los Angeles, along with Victoria Forde, Tom Mix's wife at that time. Jordan appeared in 130 films between 1913 and 1944. He died in Hemet, California, in 1970. A film still (sometimes called a publicity still or a production still) is a photograph, taken on or off the set of a movie or television program during production. These photographs are also taken in formal studio settings and venues of opportunity such as film stars' homes, film debut events, and commercial settings. The photos were taken by studio photographers for promotional purposes. Such stills consisted of posed portraits, used for public display or free fan handouts, which are sometimes autographed. They can also consist of posed or candid images taken on the set during production, and may include stars, crew members or directors at work. The main purpose of such publicity stills is to help studios advertise and promote their new films and stars. Studios therefore send those photos along with press kits and free passes to as many movie-related publications as possible so as to gain free publicity. Plot As described in a film magazine, Dwight Locke (Mix), the sweetheart of Jane Norworth (Novak), is a pampered son of wealth with so many automobiles, houses, and clothes that he does not know what to do with himself. His hand is accidentally scratched and becomes infected with a deadly poison invented by Milton Norworth (Buckley), who is Jane's brother. A professor with the only antidote for the poison is en route to Russia, so Dwight rushes to intercept him. An attempt is made to kidnap Dwight and hold him for ransom, but he escapes by jumping off a moving train and unmounting a Russian on a passing horse and riding away.
