Sicilian Alliance
The Sicilian Alliance ( it.: ''Alleanza Siciliana''; sic.: ''Allianza Siciliana'') was a minor autonomist and national-conservative political party in Sicily, Italy. It was founded in 2005 and was led by Nello Musumeci, an MEP who was elected on the list of National Alliance. On 7 October 2007, the party joined to Francesco Storace's The Right, although maintaining some of its autonomy as a regional section of the party, named "The Right – Sicilian Alliance", often shortened to "The Sicilian Right". In the 2012 regional election the party gained four regional deputies in the Musumeci List (Gino Ioppolo, Santi Formica, Carmelo Currenti and the same Nello Musumeci). In 2014 Musumeci founded the movement ''# Diventerà Bellissima'' and in November 2017 is elected President of Sicily. Nello Musumeci
Sebastiano "Nello" Musumeci (born 21 January 1955) is a right-wing Italian politician. Musumeci is serving as Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies since 22 October 2022 in the government of Giorgia Meloni. He previously served as President of Sicily from 18 November 2017 until 13 October 2022. Moreover, he was a Member of the European Parliament for the Italian seat Islands, where he was a member of the Union for a Europe of Nations parliamentary group. He sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries and its Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Biography Musumeci was born in Militello in Val di Catania, Sicily. In Italy, there are some active movements and parties calling for autonomy or even independence for the areas comprised within the historical Kingdom of the two Sicilies: that is, Southern Italy and/or the region of Sicily. ''Diventerà Bellissima'' (lit. " icilyWill Become Very Beautiful") is a regionalist and conservative political party active in Sicily, Italy. The party is led by Nello Musumeci, the President of Sicily, who is also affiliated to Brothers of Italy. The party's name was inspired by a statement about Sicily of Paolo Borsellino, an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate killed by the Mafia in 1992. Francesco Storace (born 25 January 1959 in Cassino, Lazio) is an Italian politician and journalist. Biography He began his career at the right-wing newspaper ''Il Secolo d'Italia'', until entering the ranks of the neo-fascist party Italian Social Movement (MSI) and later of National Alliance (AN) after repudiation of extremism.
