Siarhei Karneyeu (born 24 November 1988 in Belarusian SSR) is a Belarusian amateur boxer in the Heavyweight (201 lbs limit) division who won bronze the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships. Career He won a silver medal at the 2008 European Championships in the -81 kg division. At the 2011 World Championships, he defeated Deivi Julio, Michał Olaś (POL), Julio Castillo (ECU) and Chouaib Bouloudinat (ALG) before losing to eventual winner Oleksandr Usyk (UKR). With it, he qualified for the 2012 Olympics. At the 2011 European Championships he lost to Johann Witt 26:28. Amateur Boxing
Amateur boxing is a variant of boxing practiced at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as many associations. Amateur boxing bouts are short in duration, comprising three rounds of three minutes in men, and four rounds of two minutes in women, each with a one-minute interval between rounds. Men's senior bouts changed in format from four two-minute rounds to three three-minute rounds on January 1, 2009. This type of competition prizes point-scoring blows, based on number of clean punches landed, rather than physical power. Also, this short format allows tournaments to feature several bouts over several days, unlike professional boxing, where fighters rest several months between bouts. A referee monitors the fight to ensure that competitors use only legal blows (a belt worn over the torso represents the lower limit of punches – any boxer repeatedly landing "low blows" is disqualified). The men's heavyweight boxing competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 1 to 11 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Fifteen boxers from 15 nations are competed. Competition format The competition consisted of a single-elimination tournament. Bronze medals were awarded to both semi-final losers. Teymur Mammadov
Teymur Mammadov (born 11 January 1993) is a heavyweight amateur boxer from Azerbaijan. He won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics and reached quarterfinals at the 2016 Games, where he served as the flag bearer for Azerbaijan during the Parade of Nations. Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk ( uk, Олекса́ндр Олекса́ндрович У́сик; born 17 January 1987) is a Ukrainian professional boxer. He has held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including the unified WBA (Super), IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles since 2021, and the ''Ring'' magazine heavyweight title since 2022. World Amateur Boxing Championships
The IBA World Boxing Championships, and the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships (previously known as AIBA), are biennial amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (IBA), which is the sport governing body. Alongside the Olympic boxing programme, they are the highest level of competition for the sport. The championships were first held for men in 1974 and the first women's championships were held over 25 years later in 2001. Both championships are held separately on biennial schedules. Julio César Castillo Torres (born 10 May 1988) is an Ecuadorian amateur boxer. He won two medals at the Pan American Games: a bronze in 2007 and a silver in 2011. Career At the 2006 South American Games, Castillo lost to Hamilton Ventura in the semifinals and ended up with a bronze medal. At the 2007 Pan American Games, he won 15:5 against Carlos Negron, but lost to the eventual winner Eleider Alvarez 8:10 in the semifinal.
