''Siargao'' is a 2017 Philippine surf romance film directed by Paul Soriano. Starring Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith, it is produced under Soriano's own company Ten17P. The film was commercially released in the Philippines on December 25, 2017 as part of the 43rd Metro Manila Film Festival, and was the festival's top multi-awarded entry having won seven of its twelve nominations: including 2nd Best Picture, Best Director (Soriano), Best Cinematography, Best Sound, and Best Editing. Paul Soriano
Paul David Soriano(; born October 17, 1981) is an American-born Filipino commercial and film director, producer. Personal life Soriano was born and raised in Los Angeles. His father is director and pastor Jeric Soriano, the son of actor Nestor de Villa. At the age of 8, Soriano moved to Manila and attended high school at International School Manila, before moving back to the United States to attend De Anza College in Cupertino, California and Santa Clara University, where he studied filmmaking. He then returned to Manila after college. Soriano married his long-time girlfriend Toni Gonzaga on June 12, 2015 in Gonzaga's hometown, Taytay, Rizal. The 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the 43rd edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival held in Metro Manila and throughout the Philippines. It is organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters (except IMAX, 4D film, 4D, and large format 3D theaters). Wrap, as used in the phrase "That's a wrap" has been used by directors since the early days of the film industry to signal the end of filming. Since the 1920s, filmmakers have been using this phrase when principal photography is concluded and the film is ready to go into post-production. At that point, it is traditional to hold a wrap party for the cast and crew of the film. This marks the end of the actors' collaboration with each other, the director, producer, and crew on the film (except for possible dubbing or pick-ups). However the leading cast members may be called in several months or years later to help promote the film when it is ready to be released. Franco is a rock band from the Philippines, formed in 2008. The band had its beginnings as a supergroup with members from iconic Filipino bands, consisting of Franco Reyes (InYo) on vocals, Gabby Alipe (Urbandub) on guitar, 8 Toleran ( Queso) on guitar, Buwi Meneses (Parokya ni Edgar) on bass guitar, and JanJan Mendoza (Urbandub) on drums. This original lineup disbanded in mid-2012, and regrouped with frontman Franco Reyes backed by Paul Cañada on guitar, Dave Delfin on bass and Victor Guison on drums.
