Shōnen Sunday S
, formerly known as ''Shōnen Sunday Super'', is a monthly '' shōnen'' manga magazine published by Shogakukan in Japan. History and background Originally billed as a special edition of ''Weekly Shōnen Sunday'', titled , it was renamed in 1995. It is often the home of short term serials by established Shogakukan artists, as well as a place to break in new, up-and-coming Japanese manga artist. In April 2004 the magazine switched from being published monthly to bi-monthly. In March 2009, it changed back to the monthly basis. In January 2012, the magazine changed its name to simply ''Shōnen Sunday S''. Series There are currently thirteen manga series being serialized in ''Shōnen Sunday S''. Kazuhiko Shimamoto
is a Japanese people, Japanese Mangaka, manga artist. He attended college at the Osaka University of Arts in the fine arts department. While in college in February 1982, he debuted in the spring special issue of Shōnen Sunday with Hissatsu no Tenkōsei. At this point he dropped out of college and devoted his energies to becoming a Mangaka, manga artist. Shimamoto is responsible for several long-running and well-known manga series. He drew Honō no Tenkōsei from 1983 to 1985, as well as the Moeyo Pen saga, which began as a 1 volume comic published in 1990 but was continued in two more series totaling 24 volumes. He also worked with Shotaro Ishinomori on a Skull Man manga based on Ishinomori's originally intended storyline, which was licensed in the US by Tokyopop. Justy (manga)
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsuguo Okazaki which ran in '' Shōnen Sunday Zōkan''. It was adapted into an original video animation (OVA) released on July 20, 1985. The OVA was released as a double feature with the ''Area 88'' film. The story follows Justy Kaizard, a police officer who chases down criminal espers; his tactics might be similar to those of a bounty hunter but he is a salary-drawing officer. Justy is also an esper with remarkable powers. He is able to moderate his psychic forces by the use of the headband that he wears. With this device, which acts only as a psychic damper, he can finely attenuate his powers to prevent collateral damage. Nine (manga)
is a baseball manga series by Mitsuru Adachi. It was serialized in '' Monthly Shōnen Sunday Zōkan'' from the October 1978 through November 1980 issues. The series was adapted into three anime television films and a live-action television drama. An altered version of the first anime film was released in theaters, with new and re-arranged music. The story is about two friends who were star athletes in junior high school who decide, on entering high school, to join the struggling baseball club so they can have a challenge. Kaoru Shintani
is a Japanese manga artist. Shintani is best known for his series ''Area 88''. In addition to his pilot comics, Shintani has ventured into science fiction, fantasy, comedy, and hentai comics as well. In 1985, he was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen for ''Area 88'' and ''Futari Daka''.
