Shyamal Gangapadhyay
Shyamal Gangapadhyay (25 March 1933 – 24 September 2001; bn, শ্যামল গঙ্গাপাধ্যায়) was a Bengali language, Bengali novelist and editor. He received Sahitya Akademi Award, Sahitya Academy Award in 1993 for the novel of ''Shahjada Darasukoh'', based on the life of Mughal emperors, Mughal Emperor Dara Shukoh. Early life Gangapadhyay was born in Khulna District, Khulna, British India. His father name was Matilal Gangapadhyay and mother Kiranmoyee Devi. After the Partition of India, partition of 1947 their family came to India. Gangapadhyay was attracted towards student politics while studying in college. In the meanwhile he worked in a Steel factory in Belur, West Bengal, Belur. After completion of graduation in 1956, he also worked as teacher for few days in Mathuranath Bidyapith. Khulna
Khulna ( bn, খুলনা, ) is the third-largest city in Bangladesh, after Dhaka and Chittagong. It is the administrative centre of Khulna District and Khulna Division. ''Bartaman Patrika'' is an Indian Bengali daily newspaper published from Kolkata, West Bengal, India, by Bartaman Pvt. Ltd. Apart from the Kolkata edition, the newspaper has three other simultaneous editions, published daily from three major towns of West Bengal: Siliguri, Burdwan, and Midnapore. ''Bartaman'' is the second-most widely circulated Bengali newspaper in West Bengal after ''Anandabazar Patrika''. Bengali Hindus
Bengali Hindus ( bn, বাঙ্গালী হিন্দু/বাঙালি হিন্দু, translit=Bāṅgālī Hindu/Bāṅāli Hindu) are an ethnoreligious population who make up the majority in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, and Assam's Barak Valley region. In Bangladesh, they form the largest minority. They are adherents of Hinduism and are native to the Bengal region in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent. Comprising about one-thirds of the global Bengali population, they are the second-largest ethnic group among Hindus after Hindustani Hindus.
