Shyama (film)
''Shyama'' is a 1986 Indian Malayalam-language romantic thriller film produced by Joy Thomas under Jubilee Productions, directed by Joshiy and written by Dennis Joseph. It stars Mammootty and Nadia Moidu in the lead roles. The film was remade in Tamil as '' Unakkaagavee Vaazhgiren''. It is partially inspired by Gulzar's ''Kinara''. Plot Viswanathan (Mammootty), a famous filmmaker, is haunted by the death of his wife (Sumalatha) and a young man (Mukesh) whom he accidentally hit while driving. Later he meets Shyama ( Nadia Moidu), the daughter of his friend, still struggling with the death of her boyfriend, the man whom Viswanathan had killed. They fall in love but Viswanathan tries to avoid her. In the climax, he reveals the truth to Shyama. He tries to leave the town but is stopped by her brother Chandran (Lalu Alex). Joshiy
Joshiy (born 18 July 1952) is an Indian film director and producer from Varkala in Kerala who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut with ''Tiger Salim'' (1978) and has directed over 80 films. He has also directed a few Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. In the beginning of his career, he received national fame when he directed ''Dharm Aur Qanoon'' (1984) starring Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, with Khanna in double roles. ''Kinara'' () is a 1977 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film, produced and directed by Gulzar under the Meghana Movies banner. It stars Jeetendra, Hema Malini and Dharmendra in a special appearance with music composed by R. D. Burman. A major portion of the film was shot in Mandu, an ancient fort city in Madhya Pradesh. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. Azeez (27 November 1934 – 16 July 2003) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 100 films. He came into the movie industry as a villain, later he started doing character roles, such as police officer, jailer, and minister. He was a Deputy superintendent (D.Y.S.P) in Kerala Police.
