is a Japanese film director, video artist, writer and documentary maker. Life and career Iwai was born in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. He attended Yokohama National University, graduating in 1987. In 1988 he started out in the Japanese entertainment industry by directing TV dramas and music videos. Then, in 1993, his TV drama, ''Fireworks'', brought him critical praise and the Directors Guild of Japan New Directors Award for his portrayal of a group of children in the town of Iioka. In 1995 he went on to start his career in feature films, starting with the box-office hit ''Love Letter'', in which he cast pop singer Miho Nakayama in dual roles. Shunji Takano (高野 俊二 ''Takano Shunji'') (born February 16, 1964) is a Japanese retired professional wrestler. Early life Takano was born on February 16, 1964. His father was a black American Marine who belonged to the Iwakuni base, and has also become a promising boxer. However, his father returned to the United States and left his wife, a Japanese woman, and children in Japan. Takano grew up at home with his mother and brother, and he was a mixed-blooded child. Shunji Shimizu
Shunji Shimizu (清水俊二 ''Shimizu Shunji'' ?), (1906-1988), is a well-known Japanese subtitler and translator, referred to by one scholar as 'practically a household name in Japan'. He translated popular authors including Erskine Caldwell and Agatha Christie. He had a long working relationship with the Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures. He was a mentor to the eminent subtitler Natsuko Toda. Career Shunji Shimizu is said to have inaugurated film subtitling proper in Japan. The first subtitled film in Japan was Josef von Sternberg's 1930 film Morocco. It came out in Japan in 1931 and was subtitled by Yukihiko Tamura. The film's success was so great that Paramount decided greatly to expand its distribution of films to Japan, but Tamura was not able to leave Japan. He introduced Shunji Shimizu to Paramount Pictures, which whom he went on to have a long working relationship. Shunji Kosugi
(born February 17, 1960), is a retired Japanese professional wrestler, who was based in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Career Shunji Kosugi made his debut on January 11, 1981 against Norio Honaga. He was known for his technical prowess in the ring, influenced by Karl Gotch. He was the last man to defeat Satoru Sayama, before Sayama became Tiger Mask and also the very first opponent of the future Jushin Thunder Liger, Keiichi Yamada. Kosugi's biggest accomplishment came in April 1985, when he defeated Yamada to win the very first Young Lion Cup. As time went on, Kosugi suffered a severe back injury, which forced him to retire on April 10, 1988. His last recorded match as an active wrestler occurred on March 18, teaming with Don Arakawa, losing to Hiro Saito and Norio Honaga. is a former Japanese actor known for his role as Mirai Hibino/Ultraman Mebius in the 2006-2007 tokusatsu series '' Ultraman Mebius'' and several spin-offs in the Ultra Series following that. Igarashi was affiliated with the acting unit D-BOYS, produced by Watanabe Entertainment. Career Igarashi started his entertainment career auditioning for D-BOYS in the group's first open audition, held on July 27, 2004. Winner of the Grand Prix second place, Igarashi joined the group shortly after, along with first placer Yuichi Nakamura and third placer Katsuki Nakamura. Shunji Watanabe
Shunji Watanabe (born 1938) is the founder of Shorinjiryu Kenyukai Watanabe Ha Karate. Watanabe was born in Japan in 1938, and commenced training in Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate in 1955 under the tutelage of that systems founder, Kōri Hisataka. In 1967, he was selected by his teacher to move to North America to help spread Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo. After demonstrating at World Expo 67 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (along with Masayuki Hisataka, the founder's son), he settled in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. and opened the Japan Karate Center. As of 2012, Shunji Watanabe continues to teach the art as taught to him. In the mid-1970s, the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate organization in North America splintered. was a Japanese physician during the first half of the 20th century, a major general in the Imperial Japanese Army, and a war criminal. Biography Satō was a native of the city of Toyohashi in Aichi Prefecture. From January 1941 he was a department head within the Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department under the Japanese Central China Area Army.
