Shukugawa Station
is a passenger railway station located in the Aioichō neighborhood of the city of Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by the private transportation company Hankyu Railway. Lines Shukugawa Station is served by the Hankyu Kobe Line, and is located from the terminal station, terminus of the line at . It is also a terminus of the long Hankyu Kōyō Line. Layout The station is an above-ground station with two opposed side platforms for the Kobe Main Line and a single side platform platforms for the Kōyō Line. The Kōyō Line platform extends vertically to the north of the Kobe Main Line platform bound for Osaka. There used to be two lines on the Kōyō Line, but the tracks on the west side have been removed. Great Hanshin Earthquake
The , or Kobe earthquake, occurred on January 17, 1995, at 05:46:53 JST (January 16 at 20:46:53 UTC) in the southern part of Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan, including the region known as Hanshin. It measured 6.9 on the moment magnitude scale and had a maximum intensity of 7 on the JMA Seismic Intensity Scale (XI on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale). The tremors lasted for approximately 20 seconds. The focus of the earthquake was located 17 km beneath its epicenter, on the northern end of Awaji Island, 20 km away from the center of the city of Kobe. Approximately 6,434 people died as a result of this earthquake; about 4,600 of them were from Kobe. Among major cities, Kobe, with its population of 1.5 million, was the closest to the epicenter and hit by the strongest tremors. Arima Onsen
is an onsen, or hot springs in Kita-ku, Kobe, Japan. This Onsen is still a hidden treasure of modern Kobe, behind Mount Rokkō. It attracts many Japanese who want tranquility with beautiful natural surroundings and yet easy access from the busy cities in the Kansai metropolitan area including Osaka. Arima Onsen was named in "The Pillow Book", a famous Heian Era book, as one of the three famous springs in Japan. It was selected as the most prestigious hot spring during the Edo Era. Kannō-ji
Kannō-ji ( ja, 神呪寺) is a Buddhist temple in the middle of Mount Kabutoyama in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo, Japan. The other name of the temple is Kabutoyama-daishi (甲山大師). Objects of Worship The original object of worship at this temple was Mount Kabutoyama. In this region, Mount Kabutoyama was believed to be "a mountain of god". Until the Edo period, the temple was a mixture of Shinto and Buddhism, as many Japanese temples or shrines. Today, the main object of worship at this temple is a statue of Nyoirin (如意輪半跏像). Sakura Shukugawa Station
is a passenger railway station located in the city of Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture, and is operated by the West Japan Railway Company. As a part of the JR West Urban Network, the following cards are accepted: J-Thru Card, ICOCA, Suica, and PiTaPa. The station's name comes from the park approximately 200m west of the station, Shukugawa Park (夙川公園).
