Shripad Dabholkar
Shripad A. Dabholkar (1924 – May 2001) was an Indian intellectual and activist. He was the founder of a non-structured methodology of grassroot networking for nature-friendly neighbourhood development called Prayog Pariwar (Experimenting Communities). His contributions were recognized by many awards including the 1985 Jamnalal Bajaj Award. Prayog Pariwar received considerable attention from some of the influential educational thinkers including Paolo Freire (author of `Pedagogy of the Oppressed’) and Ivan Illich (author of` Deschooling Society’). Illich invited Dabholkar to Centro Intercultural de Documentación in Cuernavaca in 1970. Kassel University in Germany organized in 1973 ‘‘Science for Rural Development: a workshop with Shripad Dabholkar and Paolo Freire’’. Shripad Mahadev Mate
Shripad Mahadev Mate (2 September 1886–25 December 1957) was a Marathi writer and a social reformer from Bombay State, India. Mate was a teacher of English and Marathi literature by profession. Although he took up writing at the relatively late age of forty-four, during the remainder of his life he wrote eclectically and copiously on a variety of social, scientific, biographical and historical subjects. He was deeply troubled by the social scourge of untouchability in contemporary India, and wrote several short stories as well as essays arguing for the abolition of this practice. Although he was a Brahmin by birth and retained a spiritual affinity for the cultural and religious tenets of Hinduism, his writings show his sustained scepticism towards many of its dogmas. Shripad Narayan Pendse (5 January 1913 – 23 March 2007) was a Marathi writer. Biography Shripad Narayan Pendse hailed from Maharashtra, India. He was born to a village Murdi, from Taluka Dapoli in Ratnagiri District. His novel, ''Rathachakra'' (The Chariot-Wheel), received a Sahitya Akademi Award in 1963. His novel, ''Garambicha Bapu,'' was translated in 1969 into English, titled –Wild Bapu of Garambi','' as a part of the UNESCO Collection of Representative Works, which had been organized with Sahitya Akademi collaboration. ''Haddapar'' (The Outcast) and ''Tumbadche Khot'' (The Khots of Tumbad) are Pendse's other two popular novels. Sripada Srivallabha (Telugu: శ్రీపాద శ్రీవల్లభ, Tamil: ஸ்ரீபாத ஸ்ரீவல்லபர், Hindi: श्रीपाद श्रीवल्लभ, Kannada: ಶ್ರೀಪಾದ ಶ್ರೀವಲ್ಲಭ, Marathi: श्रीपाद श्रीवल्लभ, Malayalam: ശ്രീപാദ ശ്രീവല്ലഭ) is an Indian guru of the Dattatreya Sampradaya (Lineage) who is regarded as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. Shripad Yesso Naik (born 4 October 1952) is an Indian politician serving as the current Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India in office 7 July 2021 (in Second Modi ministry). He was the former Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. He is the Member of Parliament from North Goa constituency, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party. Early life Shripaad Naik was born on 4 October 1952 at Adpai village, North Goa District, Goa. Political career In 1999, Naik was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha from North Goa constituency in Goa. As of 2019, he has held his seat in this constituency winning in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 elections. As of 2019, he is a member of the 17th Lok Sabha.
