Shozhma River
The Shozma (russian: Шожма) is a river in Nyandomsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Mosha (river), Mosha. It is long. The river flows out of Lake Big Shozhma (russian: Bolshoye Shozmozero), crosses the Arkhangelsk-Moscow railway near the village of Shipakhovsky and crosses the village, then flows to the north up to village of Shozhma, which is on the left bank, there it turns to the east. The Shozhma flows in the general direction of the north-east. Another settlement on the river banks was the village of Kondratovskaya (with historical name the "Village of Shozhma" (russian: derevnya Shozhma) in the middle course of the river. Lake Shozhma
A lake is an area filled with water, localized in a basin, surrounded by land, and distinct from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Mosha (river)
The Mosha (russian: Моша) is a river in Plesetsky District, Plesetsky and Nyandomsky Districts of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. It is a right tributary of the Onega (river), Onega. It is long, and the area of its basin . The main tributaries of the Mosha are Iksa (Mosha), Iksa (left), Lim (Mosha), Lim (right), Lepsha (right), and Lelma (left). As a matter of fact, the longest tributary of the Mosha, the Lepsha, is longer than the Mosha itself. The river basin of the Mosha includes almost all of Nyandomsky District and some areas in Plesetsky, Velsky District, Velsky, Konoshsky District, Konoshsky, and Shenkursky Districts. For a river of this length, the watershed area is rather big. The source of the Mosha is Lake Bolshoye Moshenskoye in Nyandomsky District. Shozhma (russian: Шожма) is a types of inhabited localities in Russia, rural locality (a railway station) in Nyandomsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. History It was founded as a railway station, located from Moscow, during the building of the Vologda–Arkhangelsk railway at the end of the 19th century, and was named after the village of Shozhma (alternatively knows as Kondratovskaya), located approximately to the east, on the shore of the Shozhma River. A prison was established in Shozhma prior to World War II, which existed until 1985. Prisoners were involved in wood production.
