Edward Maclean Showers
Edward Maclean Showers (died 14 December 1925) was a British soldier and police officer who served as Chief Constable of Exeter City Police and then (from the late 1880s) Essex County Constabulary. Showers was commissioned as an Ensign (rank), ensign in the 12th Regiment of Foot in 1866 and transferred to the 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot, 95th Regiment of Foot the following year. He was promoted lieutenant in 1871 and retired in 1872, although he was later promoted Captain (British Army and Royal Marines), captain. After his retirement from the Essex County Constabulary he returned to the police to act as Chief Constable of the Colchester Borough Police during the First World War. For this he was appointed Order of the British Empire, Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 1920 civilian war honours. He was awarded the King's Police Medal (KPM) in the 1909 Birthday Honours. References

Jameill Lamonte Showers (born September 6, 1991) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Texas at El Paso. Early years Showers attended Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas. As a junior, he registered 2,150 passing yards, 513 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. He received District 12-5A First-team, District 12-5A Offensive MVP, Central Texas 4A/5A Offensive Player of the Year and honorable-mention All-state honors. Melvin J. Showers is an American journalist and news presenter. He is best known for his work at WKRG-TV in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. In his early life, Showers worked in the military as an Intelligence Analyst in the Far East, Middle East, and other territories. Upon his return stateside, he started his broadcasting career at WKRG in 1969. He served in several different roles, including announcer and reporter, before becoming a lead news anchor in 1980. Showers was among the first people of color to anchor a newscast on the Gulf Coast, breaking racial barriers. He retired from full-time work at WKRG in 2019 after fifty years. For his career in broadcasting, he was inducted into Alabama's Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and named a "Journalist of Distinction" by the National Association of Black Journalists. Reggie Showers (born February 6, 1964) is a two-time motorcycle drag racing world champion in the IDBA as a double amputee, and a motivational speaker. Accident In 1978, at the age of 14, Showers lost both of his legs below the knee in an electrical accident. He later said of his disability, "It really didn't faze me; it was kind of surreal. Jermaine "Shea" Showers (born January 11, 1974) is a former American football defensive back who played seven seasons in the Arena Football League with the Iowa Barnstormers, New York Dragons, Grand Rapids Rampage and Tampa Bay Storm.
