Showboy
''Showboy'' is a 2002 mockumentary film that was produced by star Jason Buchtel, directed by stars Christian Taylor and Lindy Heymann, written by and starring the three. It has cameos by Whoopi Goldberg, Siegfried & Roy, Alan Ball and the cast of the television series '' Six Feet Under''. Plot The film, a mockumentary that viewers are meant to believe is real, features around real-life screenwriter Taylor. Taylor is solicited by director Heymann to be the subject in a British television documentary series about British writers working in Hollywood. On the first day of filming this documentary, Taylor is fired from his real-life job as a screenwriter on the dramatic television series ''Six Feet Under''. He is unaware that the documentary crew knows this has occurred. He then relocates to Las Vegas to pursue a dream of becoming a professional showboy (a chorus line dancer). Christian Taylor is a British-Argentine-American screenwriter, director, and producer known for his work on the American television series ''Lost'', '' Six Feet Under'', ''Teen Wolf, Clone Wars, Resident Alien,'' ''Eye Candy'' and the Award-winning independent film SHOWBOY which is codirected and starred in. Christian is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and actively works to encourage representation across Film and TV storytelling. Early life Taylor was born in London, England to an Argentine father and British mother. Soon after his birth, the family moved to Mexico City for three years. Lindy Heymann
Lindy Heymann is a British director and assistant director, known for '' Showboy'' (2002), ''The Laughing King'' (2016) and ''Kicks'' (2009). Career She received a British Independent Film Award (BIFA) for Best Directorial Debut for her feature film debut ''Showboy'' (2002). She also directs music videos and commercials and has worked with many acts. Her work includes videos for Chase & Status, Imelda May, Keane and Take That as well as a live concert DVD for The Specials which was nominated for a UK Music Video Award. On August 2019 it was announced that she would be directing a biopic on Richey Edwards from Manic Street Preachers titled '4real'. Siegfried & Roy were a duo of German-American magicians and entertainers, best known for their appearances with white lions and white tigers.
