Joey Yung
Joey Yung (, ; born 16 June 1980) is a Hong Kong singer and Cantopop diva signed to Emperor Entertainment Group. Since her debut in 1996, Yung has won numerous awards, including the JSG Most Popular Female Singer and Ultimate Best Female Singer – Gold awards a record-breaking nine times. She was ranked 63rd on the 2014 ''Forbes'' China Celebrity 100, making her the most influential Hong Kong-based female singer that year. In 2014, she reportedly earned HK$80 million (US$10.3 million). Early life Yung was born on 16 June 1980 at Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan elder to one brother. She has ancestral roots from Xinhui, Guangdong. She attended Ma On Shan Lutheran Primary School, where she was classmates with Wong Cho-lam in her sixth grade. Canto-pop
Cantopop (a contraction of "Cantonese pop music") or HK-pop (short for "Hong Kong pop music") is a genre of pop music written in standard Chinese and sung in Cantonese. Cantopop is also used to refer to the cultural context of its production and consumption. The genre began in the 1970s and became associated with Hong Kong popular music from the middle of the decade. Cantopop then reached its height of popularity in the 1980s and 1990s before slowly declining in the 2000s and experiencing a slight revival in the 2010s. The term "Cantopop" itself was coined in 1978 after "Cantorock", a term first used in 1974. ''My Pride'' (Traditional Chinese, Chinese: 我的驕傲) is an album recorded by Cantopop singer Joey Yung, released in 2003. "My Pride" was Yung's fifth studio recorded album and garnered Yung with the "Most Popular Female Singer" award for that year. The title song, "My Pride," was a cover of Fiona Fung's English song, "Proud of You" and was named one of the greatest Cantonese songs of all time. Title song The title song of the album "My Pride" was originally an English commercial song "Proud of You" by another Cantopop artist, Fiona Fung in 2003. Joey Yung was then requisitioned to record the commercial in Mandarin and later recorded the full song in Cantonese. Shortly after, Yung released a Mandarin version of "My Pride" titled "Girl Fluttering Her Wings" (揮著翅膀的女孩). ''Nin9 2 5ive'' is Joey Yung's seventh Cantonese full-length studio album, released on 29 April 2004. The theme of the album is about life in the city, which is why the album is called Nin9 2 5ive (9-5, symbolising the average "city person's" working hours). As with Joey's last two albums, this album also includes several preludes and interludes. The character 溶 is just a shorter and more simple version of 凝溶 (溶 means Melt, while 凝溶 means Solidify). Hong Kong Coliseum
Hong Kong Coliseum, commonly known as the Hung Hom Coliseum, is a multi-purpose indoor arena, in Hung Hom Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong near Hung Hom station. It is in Yau Tsim Mong District. It was built by the Urban Council and inaugurated on 27 April 1983. The opening of the stadium coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Urban Council. The coliseum has 12,500 seats, which is the second largest among indoor facilities in Hong Kong, only behind the 2005-opened AsiaWorld–Arena.
