Show Me The Money 6
The sixth season of the series Show Me the Money (South Korean TV series), Show Me the Money, known as Show Me the Money 6 (also referred to as SMTM6), premiered on June 30, 2017 and ended on September 1, 2017. It is on broadcast every Friday at 23:00 KST on Mnet (TV channel), Mnet. The season features judges Choiza and Gaeko of Dynamic Duo (South Korean duo), Dynamic Duo, H1GHR MUSIC's Jay Park of AOMG and Dok2 of Illionaire Records, Tiger JK and Bizzy of Feel GHood Music, and Zico (Rapper), Zico and Dean (South Korean singer), Dean of FANXYCHILD. Over 12,000 contestants auditioned this season with a mix of returning contestants, veteran rappers, and upcoming rappers participating in the competition. Similarly to previous seasons, open auditions were held, in Seoul, Los Angeles, and for the first time in New York. Choiza
Choi Jae-ho (; born March 17, 1980), known professionally as Choiza (), is a South Korean hip hop recording artist. He and Gaeko comprise the hip hop duo Dynamic Duo, which rose to fame upon the release of their debut album ''Taxi Driver'' in 2004. In 2006, he co-founded the South Korean record label Amoeba Culture. He was previously a member of the hip hop trio CB Mass. Illionaire Records was an independent South Korean record label formed in January 2011 by rappers The Quiett and Dok2. The label also represents rapper Beenzino. Despite its small size, Illionaire Records was considered one of the most influential hip hop record labels in South Korea due to the popularity of its artists. As of 6 July 2020, Illionaire Records announced via their official social media accounts that they are now defunct. Phantom (band)
Phantom ( ko, 팬텀) were South Korean hip hop boy band consisting of three members: Kiggen, Sanchez and Hanhae. They were managed by Brand New Music and Rainbow Bridge World. The group released numerous single albums and two mini-albums: ''Phantom City'' and ''Phantom Theory''. In 2014, the group released its first full-length album, ''Phantom Power''. Jo Woo-chan (; born January 20, 2005), is a South Korean rapper. He was a contestant on ''Show Me the Money 6''. He released his first collaborative single, "OGZ", on January 5, 2018. MFBTY
MFBTY, an acronym that stands for "My Fans reBetter Than Yours," is a Korean hip-hop group under Feel Ghood Music consisting of Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae, and Bizzy. They debuted in 2013 with the single, "Sweet Dream." MFBTY was meant to be only a temporary name, and the trio released an album later that year as Drunken Tiger, Tiger JK's legendary hip hop group. The fifth season of the series Show Me the Money, known as Show Me the Money 5 (also referred to as SMTM5), premiered on May 6, 2016 and ended July 15, 2016. It is on broadcast every Friday at 23:00 KST on Mnet. Mnet's fifth season of SMTM features YG Entertainment judges Kush and Zion.T, Dok2 and The Quiett from Illionaire Records, AOMG co-CEO Simon Dominic and producer Gray, and judges Mad Clown and Gill of Leessang. A record-breaking number of 9,000 contestants auditioned this season. The process of SMTM5 was similar to that of ''Show Me the Money 4'' with open auditions where contestants were asked for an a cappella rap, but for the first time LA auditions were also held in addition to the traditional audition in Seoul. Show Me The Money 3
The third season of Show Me the Money (SMTM3), which aired in 2014, saw a huge change in production as prominent figures of the Korean hip-hop scene participated in the show. Over 3,000 people auditioned this season, 1.5 times the amount last season, including underground rappers, non-Koreans, students, and previous SMTM contestants. The winner receives one hundred million won prize money, a record deal, and an opportunity to hold a special performance.
