Shotwell, North Carolina
Shotwell is an unincorporated community in rural eastern Wake County, North Carolina, United States, located about south of Knightdale, North Carolina, Knightdale and east of Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh at the confluence of Smithfield, Mial Plantation, Major Slade, Grasshopper, and Turnipseed Roads. Shotwell has been inhabited since the early 19th century and is home to a number of historic structures. A post office was established in 1883 but closed less than two decades later. Shotwell (software)
Shotwell is an image organizer designed to provide personal photo management for the GNOME desktop environment. In 2010, it replaced F-Spot as the standard image tool for several GNOME-based Linux distributions, including Fedora in version 13 and Ubuntu in its 10.10 Maverick Meerkat release. Features Shotwell can import photos and videos from a digital camera directly. Shotwell automatically groups photos and videos by date, and supports tagging. Its image editing features allow users to straighten, crop, eliminate red eye, and adjust levels and color balance. It also features an auto "enhance" option that will attempt to guess appropriate levels for the image. Shotwell allows users to publish their images and videos to Flickr, Piwigo, and YouTube. Shotwell Stadium is a stadium in Abilene, Texas. It was built in 1959, using Rice Stadium as a model. It was initially named the Public Schools Stadium. The first game played in the Stadium was in the fall of 1959. George Shotwell was an American football center who played college football at the University of Pittsburgh. He attended Hanover Township High School in Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Shotwell attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he played for the Pittsburgh Panthers football team and was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American in 1934. Marie Shotwell (March 21, 1880 – September 18, 1934) was an American actress of the stage and screen. Biography Shotwell was in motion pictures beginning in 1915 with roles in ''God's Witness'', ''The Taming of Mary'', ''Under Southern Skies'', and ''The Tale of the C''. Her film career continued until the late 1920s, including '' Sally of the Sawdust'' (1925) with W.C. Fields; her final appearances were in '' Running Wild'' (1927) and ''One Woman To Another'' (1927). She was married to a former Savannah, Georgia, police chief, William G. Austin. Shotwell divorced Austin in 1916. In 1922 Shotwell became executrix for the estate of her friend, New York City public school teacher Marie J. Pearson. Shotwell was sued by an undertaker for $245, the amount of the burial bill.
