Constance Shotter
Constance Ada Shotter, Lady Taylor (5 October 1911 – 1989) was a British actress who appeared in several films in the 1930s. Shotter was born in London. By 1926 she was a chorus dancer, appearing in ''The Midnight Follies a Dinner, Dancing and Review'' by A. P. Herbert, choreographed by Penelope Spencer. Like her sister she moved from the chorus line and appeared in a series of British films in the 1930s. Shotter married firstly Adney Gibbons, son of Walter Gibbons, in 1928. They had a son. She married secondly Charles Stuart Taylor, Member of Parliament for Eastbourne on 20 May 1936. They had four children. Edward Shotter
Edward Frank Shotter (29 June 1933 – 3 July 2019) was an Anglican priest. Shotter was educated at Humberstone Foundation School and Durham University and ordained in 1961. He began his ordained ministry as a curate at St Peter's Plymouth, after which he was intercollegiate secretary of the Student Christian Movement (SCM). From 1966 to 1989, he was director of studies at the London Medical Group and was appointed Dean of Rochester, a post he held until retirement in 2003. Shotter is most notable for founding the London Medical Group in the mid-1960s. This was a forum for the discussion of the ethical issues of medicine and grew out of his work with the Student Christian Movement, the Diocese of London, and the London Medical Deaneries. This group was widely exported to other UK medical schools. David Shotter
David Colin Arthur Shotter (3 January 193922 May 2021) was a British archaeologist and Professor of Roman Imperial History at the University of Lancaster. Career Shotter was born in London and educated at King's College School, London and the University of Southampton. He taught at Magee University College, Derry (now part of Ulster University) from 1964 to 1966 and was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Classics at the University of Lancaster in 1966. During his career, he established and chaired over 40 annual archaeological conferences for the university's Centre for North-West Regional Studies. He was Principal of Lonsdale College, Lancaster and was appointed Professor of Roman Imperial History in 2003 and retired in 2004. Winifred Shotter
Winifred Florence Shotter (5 November 1904 – 4 April 1996) was an English actress best known for her appearances in the Aldwych farces of the 1920s and early 1930s. Initially a singer and dancer in the ensembles of musical comedies, Shotter was spotted by the comedian and producer Leslie Henson. He recommended her to his colleague Tom Walls, who was in search of a leading lady to succeed Yvonne Arnaud in his series of farces at the Aldwych Theatre, London. From 1926 to 1932, Shotter played in eight of the farces, in a regular company headed by Walls and Ralph Lynn. She appeared in several films during the 1930s, including adaptations of four of the Aldwych plays. After the Aldwych series ended, Shotter appeared in numerous West End shows, worked briefly in Hollywood, and continued to appear in British films. Thomas Shotter Boys
Thomas Shotter Boys (1803–1874) was an English watercolour painter and lithographer. Life Boys was born at Pentonville, London, on 2 January 1803. He was articled to the engraver George Cooke. When his apprenticeship came to an end he went to Paris where he met and came under the influence of Richard Parkes Bonington, who persuaded him to abandon engraving for painting. Some sources describe him as a pupil of Bonington, although William Callow, who later shared a studio with him in Paris, disputed this. He exhibited at the Royal Academy for the first time in 1824, and in Paris in 1827. In 1830 he went to Brussels, but returned to England on the outbreak of the revolution there. Paying another visit to Paris, he remained there until 1837, and then returned to England in order to lithograph the works of David Roberts and Clarkson Stanfield.
