"Shorty, Shorty" is a song by American duo Xtreme. It served as the first single for their second album, '' Haciendo Historia'' (2006). It is considered their most successful song to this day. It peaked at number two on the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs chart. It also peaked at number one on the ''Billboard'' Tropical Airplay chart. They also recorded a fully Spanish Pop version and a remix version which were added as bonus tracks for the second album. The pop version was also added to the Platinum Edition of the album that was released in 2007 along with an English version of the song. Xtreme (group)
Xtreme is an American music duo consisting of members Danny D (born as Danny Mejía on July 23, 1985) and Steve Styles (born as Steven Tejada on November 25, 1985) of Dominican descent. The duo focuses on the Latin genre bachata. Xtreme was formed in 2003 and since then has enjoyed success among Hispanics in the United States. The original line up included another vocalist name Elvis Rosario, who was also a guitarist in the group. He left after 2005 or 2006. History The beginning The group was discovered in 2003 by Andre "Dre" Hidalgo. He is the owner and founder of the independent record label 2 Strong Music, which had started the careers of Bachata artists and groups such as Aventura and Prince Royce. Dre discovered Danny D at age 17. Later on he added Elvis Rosario to the lineup. Danny and Rosario were the original members. Latin Rhythm Airplay is an airplay-only chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' that ranks the most popular songs being played on Hispanic rhythmic/hurban radio stations in the United States. The music typically heard on these stations include reggaeton, Hispanic R&B and hip hop, rhythmic pop/dance, and crossovers from English-language and/or bilingual acts. The chart was introduced the week of August 13, 2005, and came about as a result of radio stations tapping into the growing second and third generation Hispanic audience who wanted a Spanish-speaking or bilingual alternative to the (English-language mainstream, rhythmic, and R&B/hip-hop) formats that they felt would represent them. Latin Pop Airplay (also referred to as Latin Pop Songs) is a record chart published on ''Billboard'' magazine and a subchart of the Latin Airplay chart. The chart focuses on Latin pop music, namely Spanish-language pop music. It was established by the magazine on October 8, 1994 as a subchart of the Hot Latin Songs chart until October 2012 when the Hot Latin Songs changed its methodology. Latin Airplay is a chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine in the United States. It was established on October 20, 2012. This chart lists the 50 most-played songs on Spanish-language radio stations across the country as monitored by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) weighted to each station's Nielsen ratings. It is based on the Hot Latin Songs chart's former methodology prior to October 20, 2012 which was revamped afterwards to rank the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on streaming, digital downloads, and airplay from all radio stations in the US. Although the Latin Airplay was launched on October 20, 2012, it retroactively includes songs that ranked on the Hot Latin Songs since the issue dated November 12, 1994, which was when the ''Billboard'' began incorporating Nielsen BDS to the Hot Latin Songs chart methodology.
