Shoreline Conference
Shoreline Conference is one of the many athletic conferences in Connecticut. The conference consists mostly of schools in Middlesex County, Connecticut, Middlesex County and serves one school in New Haven County and another in New London County. It is a member of the Connecticut Association of Schools, CIAC. Connecticut () is the southernmost state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States. Valley Regional High School
Valley Regional High School (VRHS) is located in Deep River, Connecticut, United States. It serves the three towns of Regional School District No. 4 - Essex, Chester, and Deep River. In its 2011 edition, Newsweek magazine named Valley Regional as one of "America's Best High Schools," ranking 334th out of 500 nationally. Controversies Mascot controversy In the fall of 2019, controversy grew over the Valley Regional High School mascot, the "Warriors". Outcry reached a height after many students, former and current, spoke out, arguing that the mascot was disrespectful towards the Native American community. Eventually, in the fall of 2019, the administration decided to change the mascot. Old Saybrook is a town in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,481 at the 2020 census. It contains the incorporated borough of Fenwick, as well as the census-designated places of Old Saybrook Center and Saybrook Manor. History In 1624, shortly after establishing their first settlement at Governors Island, Dutch settlers established a short-lived factory at present day Old Saybrook. Old Saybrook Senior High School
Old Saybrook High School is a secondary school located in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, United States. It has a current enrollment of 444. with a student to teacher ratio of about 9.74. Old Saybrook students consistently exceed national and state averages on standardized tests. The school, its students and its teachers have won numerous awards in academics, the arts, athletics and other areas. In 1976, a re-creation of the first submarine ever used in battle, the ''American Turtle'', was designed by Joseph Leary and constructed by Fred Frese as a Bicentennial project.
