Shooting At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 50 Metre Pistol
The men's ISSF 50 meter pistol event at the 2012 Olympic Games took place on 5 August 2012 at the Royal Artillery Barracks. There were 38 competitors from 27 nations. The event was won by Jin Jong-oh of South Korea, the second of his three consecutive victories in the free pistol. He was the first (and, since the event has been discontinued, the only) shooter to win two individual free pistol gold medals. It was his third medal in the event (including a silver in 2004), making him the fourth man to earn three free pistol medals. His countryman Choi Young-rae took silver, the first time since 1976 that a nation had finished 1–2 in the event. Chinese shooter Wang Zhiwei received bronze. Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, is a barracks of the British Army which forms part of Woolwich Garrison. The Royal Regiment of Artillery had its headquarters here from 1776 until 2007, when it was moved to Larkhill Garrison. Yusuf Dikeç (born January 1, 1973 in Taşoluk, Göksun, Kahramanmaraş Province, Turkey) is a Turkish sport shooter competing in the pistol events. A retired non-commissioned officer of the Turkish Gendarmerie, the tall athlete at is a member of Jandarma Gücü Sports Club. Early years Yusuf Dikeç was born 1973 in Taşoluk village of Göksun district in Kahramanmaraş Province. After his primary schooling in his village, he completed his secondary education in Göksun. In 1994, he enrolled to the Military School of Gendarmerie in Ankara. After graduation, he became a corporal and entered duty in Mardin. In 1999, Dikeç entered the Military School of Gendarmerie. After one year, he graduated in the rank of a sergeant. He served one year in Istanbul, and then was appointed to Jandarma Gücü in Ankara, the sports club of the Turkish Gendarmerie. İsmail Keleş (born 5 March 1988 in Ankara) is a Turkish sport shooter competing in the pistol events. By profession a non-commissioned officer at the Turkish Gendarmerie, the tall athlete at , is a member of Jandarma Gücü Sports Club, where he is coached by Muhammed Topal. Keleş began with sport shooting in 2007. He has competed since 2008. He qualified for participation in the 10 m air pistol men event at the 2012 Summer Olympics after he won the silver medal at the 2012 ISSF World Cup held in Milan, Italy. Giuseppe Giordano (born July 16, 1974, in Naples) is an Italian sport shooter. He won a bronze medal in the men's free pistol at the 2011 ISSF World Cup series in Munich, Germany, with a total score of 659.6 points, earning him a spot on the Italian team for the Olympics. Giordano is also a member of the shooting team for Centro Sportivo Esercito, and is coached and trained by Marco Masetti. Giordano represented Italy at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he competed in the men's 50 m pistol, along with his teammate and three-time Olympian Francesco Bruno. Leonid Yekimov
Leonid Aleksandrovich Yekimov (russian: Леонид Александрович Екимов; born 13 September 1987) is a Russian sport shooter. At the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships, he won the junior competition in 25 metre pistol and finished second in 25 metre standard pistol. The following year, although still a junior, he opted to participate in the open class of the European Championships in 10 metre air pistol and helped the Russian team to a gold medal and a new world record, also breaking the junior world record of Kanstantsin Lukashyk in the qualification round. He then proceeded to defeat teammates Mikhail Nestruyev and Vladimir Isakov in the final, to top a Russian triple victory and win his first international senior title. Christian Reitz (born 29 April 1987) is a German 25 metre rapid fire pistol shooter, the current world record holder. Hoàng Xuân Vinh (born October 6, 1974 in Hanoi) is a Vietnamese sport shooter. Xuân Vinh participated in the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Andrija Zlatić ( sr-cyr, Андрија Златић, born January 25, 1978) is a Serbian sport shooter. He is currently a member of Aleksa Dejović Užice. In 1998 Andrija became junior world champion in shooting in Barcelona, Spain. At the 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships he won a silver medal. At the 2004 Summer Olympics he represented Serbia and Montenegro. He was a first athlete from his country who qualified for 2004 Summer Olympics.
