Barry Buddon Shooting Centre
Barry Buddon Training Area is a Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence-owned rifle range and training area in Barry, Angus, Scotland, which runs adjacent to Carnoustie Golf Links and the Dundee–Aberdeen line, Dundee - Aberdeen railway Line. History Barry Buddon dates back to around 1850 when the area was used by the Forfarshire Rifle Volunteers, the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, the Panmure Battery of the Forfarshire Artillery Brigade, and a Royal Naval Reserve Battery. In 1897 the Arthur Ramsay, 14th Earl of Dalhousie, Earl of Dalhousie sold the site to the War Office for use as a military training area. The training area covers 2,300 acres (930 hectares), of which 600 acres (240 hectares) is intertidal zone. The camp was expanded in the late 1990s and has accommodation for 507. Charlotte Kerwood
Charlotte Hollands ( née Kerwood, born 15 September 1986) is a British sports shooter. She won her first Commonwealth Gold medal at the age of 15 at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. In 2015 World Championship, she was part of the British team that won gold in the team trap event. Career Kerwood was born in Cuckfield and her parents are also sports shooters, running Northall Clay Pigeon Club, where Kerwood began shooting at the age of 12. Shreyasi Singh (born 29 August 1991) is an Indian shooter and politician. She competes in the double trap event. She won a gold medal in the Shooting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia - Women's double trap and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2020, she joined India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and is a Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Jamui constituency. Early life and education Shreyasi's grandfather Kumar Serender Singh and father Digvijay Singh were both presidents of the National Rifle Association of India in their lifetimes. Rachel Parish
Rachel Parish (born 21 May 1981) is an English international sportswoman who won a shooting gold medal and silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Before going to university, she went to Wellington College in Berkshire. Already holding a degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from The University of Nottingham from 2002, Parish then read medicine at Southampton University, graduating as a doctor in 2007. Parish is also a keen fencer, and has captained both the Nottingham and Southampton university fencing teams. Selected for the Commonwealth Games at Melbourne in 2006, she shot in the double trap pairs competition in partnership with Charlotte Kerwood and together they took the gold medal. Cynthia Barbara Meyer (born October 6, 1965, in New York City, United States) is a Canadian Clay pigeon shooting, trap shooter who won a gold medal for Canada at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England. Meyer is also a former world championship medalist in the double trap. Meyer was on Canada's Olympic teams in Canada at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996, Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 and Canada at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004. Varsha Varman (born 1 June 1994) is a professional Indian sport shooter. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon in the women's double trap team event, along with Shagun Chowdhary and Shreyasi Singh. Varman thus became the first sportsperson from Bhopal Madhya Pradesh to win a medal at the Asian Games. She is a prodigy. She is the only athlete from her state to have represented India at the Commonwealth Games. Varsha studied at St. Joseph's Co-ed School, Bhopal.
