Shooting At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Skeet
The Men's skeet event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on August 15 and 16 at the Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 5 sets of 25 shots in the set order of skeet shooting. The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round moved on to the final round. There, they fired one additional round of 25. The total score from all 150 shots was used to determine the final ranking. Vincent Hancock from the United States took a one-hit lead in the qualification round. In the final round, Norway's Tore Brovold, who already shared the world record with Hancock, eliminated this gap by means of a perfect 25, thus also sharing the Olympic final record of 145 hits with him. Hancock came back to win the shoot-off for the gold medal. Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field
The Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field () is a shooting range in the Shijingshan District of Beijing, People's Republic of China, China. During the 1990 Asian Games, the shooting range was used for shooting and archery competitions. It was under renovation and was completed in August 2007 for the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2008 Olympics, the Shooting at the 2008 Summer Olympics, shooting range hosted men's and women's skeet shooting and trap shooting events. It has floor space of 6,170 square metres with a capacity of 5,000 seats which was reduced to 1,047 after the Games. Abdullah Al-Rashidi (born August 23, 1963) is a Kuwaiti sport shooter and three-time world champion. He competed at the Summer Olympics in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, winning bronze medals in men's skeet in both 2016 and 2020.
