Barbara Caspers
Barbara Caspers is an Australian Paralympic shooter. At the 1980 Arnhem Games, she won a gold medal in the Mixed Air Rifle Kneeling 1A–1C event, a silver medal in the Mixed Air Rifle 3 Positions 1A–1C event, and a bronze medal in the Mixed Air Rifle Standing 1A–1C event. At the 1984 New York/Stoke Mandeville Games, she won four gold medals in the Women's Air Rifle Kneeling 1A–1C, Women's Air Rifle Prone 1A–1C, Women's Air Rifle Standing 1A–1C, and Mixed Air Rifle 3 Positions 1A–1C events. She competed but did not win any medals at the 1988 Seoul Games. Jonas Jacobsson (born 22 June 1965) is a Swedish sport shooter who has won several gold medals at the Paralympic Games. He participated in ten consecutive Summer Paralympics from 1980 to 2016, winning a total of seventeen gold, two silver, and nine bronze medals. In 1996, he won two gold medals in the air rifle 3×40 and English match events and a bronze in the air rifle prone at the Atlanta Paralympics. At the 2000 Summer Paralympics, he took two gold medals in the free rifle 3×40 and free rifle prone events and two bronzes in air rifle standing and air rifle prone events. Four years later, at the Athens Games, he competed in the same four events and won the gold medal in all of them. On 10 September 2008 Jacobsson won his 16th gold medal in the Paralympic Games making him the best performing male Paralympics contestant so far. Elizabeth "Libby" Dudley Kosmala (née Richards), OAM (born 8 July 1942) is an Australian shooter with paraplegia. She represented Australia at twelve Paralympics from 1972 to 2016, and won thirteen medals, nine of them gold. Personal Kosmala was born on 8 July 1942 in Adelaide. Her father was a lawyer. She was born with club feet, which were straightened out with plasters and bandages. She was initially classified as having spina bifida, but at the age of 50, she discovered that her paraplegia was due to birth-related complications; she was delivered in a long operation using forceps by a cardiologist. She is paralysed from the waist down, and her spine is of normal thickness down to the middle of her back, thins out to the size of a pencil, then comes out normally again. She learnt to stand at the age of seven, and her parents made her walk from 20 to 30 minutes a day from then until she was seventeen years old.
