Shivanand
Shivanand (3 January 1922 – 31 October 2006 ) was an Indian politician and a freedom fighter from Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. He was President of Rewa Rajya Praja Mandal from December 1946 to January 1948 and was jailed five times during freedom struggle and expelled from Rewa state many times. He was elected from Satna Constituency to the Vindhya Pradesh Legislative assembly in 1952 and sworn in as Speaker of that assembly. He was also member of Madhya pradesh Legislative assembly from 1957-62 along with Vishweshwar Prasad. During 1952–56 and 1959–62, he served as State Convener (Pradesh Sanyojak) of the Bharat Sewak Samaj under the leadership of Pt. Nehru and Gulzarilal Nanda and was very closely associated with them. Vindhya Pradesh
Vindhya Pradesh was a former state of India. It occupied an area of 23,603 sq. miles. It was created in 1948 as Union of Baghelkhand and Bundelkhand States, shortly after Indian independence, from the territories of the princely states in the eastern portion of the former Central India Agency. It was named as Vindhya Pradesh on 25 January 1950 after the Vindhya Range, which runs through the centre of the province. The capital of the state was firstly Singrauli till 1953, secondly Rewa from 1953 onwards. It lays between Uttar Pradesh to the north and Madhya Pradesh to the south, and the enclave of Datia, which lay a short distance to the west, was surrounded by the state of Madhya Bharat. Satna is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as the headquarters of Satna district. It is 7th largest city and 8th most populous city of the state. Bundelkhand
Bundelkhand (, ) is a geographical and cultural region and a proposed state and also a mountain range in central & North India. The hilly region is now divided between the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with the larger portion lying in the latter state. Jhansi is the largest city in Bundelkhand. Another major city of Bundelkhand is Sagar being second largest city of Bundelkhand and headquarter of Sagar Division. Etymology Bundelkhand means "Bundela domain". The region was earlier known as Jejabhukti or Jejakabhukti ("Jeja's province"). According to the inscriptions of the Chandela dynasty, this name derived from Jeja, the nickname of their ruler Jayashakti. Bagelkhand or Baghelkhand is a proposed state and a mountain range in central India that covers the northeastern regions of Madhya Pradesh and a small area of southeastern Uttar Pradesh. History Dahala Baghelkhand was known as Dahala 6th–12th century, Kalachuri dynasty with stronghold at Kalinjar Fort. The area got its current name after Vaghela Rajput kings in the 14th century, later it was absorbed state.
