A ( fa, بخش, also romanized as ) is a third-level administrative division of Iran. While sometimes translated as "county," it is more accurately translated as "district," similar to a township in the United States or a district of England. Karkhaneh-ye Qand-e Shirvan
Karkhaneh-ye Qand-e Shirvan ( fa, كارخانه قندشيروان, also Romanized as Kārkhāneh-ye Qand-e Shīrvān) is a village in Ziarat Rural District, in the Central District of Shirvan County, North Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 406, in 89 families. This factory was started to be built in the years before the Islamic revolution and after it was built, it had a production capacity of one thousand tons. Shirvan ( fa, شيروان, also Romanized as Shīrvān) is a city and capital of Shirvan County, North Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 162,790, in 70,878 families. Etymology The name of this city branches from the old Persian word, ''Shīr'' ( fa, , 'Lion'). It might be because of the mountain in the south of the city which looks like a big lion at rest.
