Shire Of Buloke
The Shire of Buloke is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the western part of the state. It covers an area of and, in June 2018, had a population of 6,184. It includes the towns of Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake and Wycheproof. It was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of the Shire of Wycheproof, Shire of Birchip, Shire of Charlton, Shire of Donald, and parts of the Shire of Kara Kara. The Shire is governed and administered by the Buloke Shire Council; its seat of local government and administrative centre is located at the Council headquarters in Wycheproof, it also has service centres located in Birchip, Charlton, Donald and Sea Lake. The Shire of Wycheproof was a local government area about northwest of Bendigo in northwestern Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1894 until 1995. History Wycheproof was originally part of the St Arnaud Road District, which was incorporated in 1861, and became a Shire in 1864. Culgoa
Culgoa is a town in the Mallee region in the north west of the Australian state of Victoria. The town is approximately from the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2021 census, Culgoa had a population of 86, declining from 101 in 2016. Primary production in the area is predominantly wheat and barley, with some legume and oil crops. Sheep numbers have been down since the drought took hold in the early 2000s. The Post Office opened on 27 May 1893 as Kaneira shortly after the arrival of the railway and was renamed Culgoa in 1920. In 2006 the post office was relocated to the Culgoa Community Store which is a community owned not for profit business to meet the daily needs of the locals. In 2003 when it looked like the local store would close the community formed a co-operative and purchased the store to run for themselves. Buckrabanyule, Victoria
Buckrabanyule is a tiny township in the north-central area of the state of Victoria in Australia. It is from Melbourne, Victoria's capital city. The Post Office opened on 23 November 1875. It was renamed Hallam in 1884 when an office named Buckrabanyule R.S (for ''Railway Station'') was opened some distance away. This latter office became Buckrabanyule in 1902 and closed in 1992. Buckrabanyule is an Australian Aboriginal name meaning "last of the hills" or "last of the ranges" which is a rather appropriate description, since geographically, Mount Buckrabanyule (which lies just north of the township) is at the very end of the north-eastern extension of the Great Dividing Range. Berriwillock is a town in the Mallee region in the north-west of the Australian state of Victoria. Berriwillock is north-west of the state capital, Melbourne. Nearby towns include Boigbeat (about north west and Culgoa south east. Berriwillock is due west of the Murray River and is a vibrant grain producing community. Lake Buloke
Lake Buloke is a eutrophic lake in the Wimmera region of north-western Victoria, Australia. The lake is fed by the Richardson River and is located adjacent to the township of . Lake Buloke is also one of the most popular duck shooting lakes in Victoria. The Lake Buloke area comprises wetland habitat of high significance for waterbirds, particularly waterfowl and waders. The bull oak casuarina is found in the Shire and around Lake Buloke. In the indigenous Jardwadjali language, the river is named ''Banyenong'', with ''banye'' meaning the "burning of roots and stumps" and ''nong'' meaning "the past;" and also named ''Buluk'', meaning "lake."
