Pintharuka, Western Australia
Pintharuka is an abandoned townsite in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The town is located between the towns of Morawa and Mullewa on the Mullewa-Wubin Road During the planning of the railway to be constructed between Mullewa and Wongan Hills in 1912, the local progress association requested that a townsite be surveyed at the siding that was to be built in the present townsite. The name of the siding was chosen as Pintharika in 1913 and the townsite was gazetted later the same year. The area's main industry is in agriculture: particularly cereal cropping and raising livestock. The town and the area was flooded and many sheep were killed in 1948 by the hail and rain from violent thunderstorms. The name of the town is taken from a nearby well which was surveyed and recorded in 1910. Koolanooka, Western Australia
Koolanooka is a small town in the MidWest region of Western Australia. It is situated between Morawa and Perenjori just off the Mullewa-Wubin road. At the 2006 census, Koolanooka had a population of 46. In 1932 the Wheat Pool of Western Australia announced that the town would have two grain elevators, each fitted with an engine, installed at the railway siding. Name Originating as a station on the Mullewa to Wongan Hills railway line, it was initially known as Bowgada when it was planned in 1913. The name Bowgada was taken from the pastoral station located nearby. Shortly before the line was opened in 1914 the name changed to Koolanooka and the next station south on the railway line was named Bowgada instead. The townsite was gazetted in 1916. The town takes its name from the nearby Koolanooka Spring. The word is Aboriginal in origin and means ''place of plenty wild turkeys''. Gutha, Western Australia
Gutha is a townsite in the Mid West region of Western Australia, north of Morawa. The first Europeans to pass through the Gutha area were government Assistant Surveyor Augustus Charles Gregory and Francis Thomas Gregory (both attached to the department of the Surveyor-General) and their brother Henry Churchman Gregory, on a public-private funded expedition to search for new agricultural land beyond the settled areas. They passed north of Gutha on 8 September 1846, on their way to the Irwin River. In 1913 it was decided to establish a railway siding there, north of Morawa on the Wongan Hills – Mullewa railway. The district surveyor suggested the name "Muthingutha", the Aboriginal name of a nearby rockhole. This was shortened to Gutha by the Lands Department, and Gutha siding was established in 1915. Canna is a small town in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is located between the towns of Morawa and Mullewa on the Mullewa-Wubin Road. At the 2006 census, Canna had a population of 81. Originating as a railway siding on the Wongan Hills to Mullewa railway line the public works department planned to locate a station named ''Pindawa'' on the present site. The name was regarded as unsuitable due to its similarity to the existing town of Pindar so in 1914 it was decided to use Canna instead. The townsite was gazetted in 1928.
