The Shindig
''The Shindig'' is a Mickey Mouse short animated film first released on July 11, 1930, as part of the '' Mickey Mouse'' film series. It was the twentieth Mickey Mouse short to be produced, the fifth of that year. The cartoon's cast includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar and Patricia Pigg. Plot Mickey and Minnie are in the back of a long car packed with animals, singing "A-Hunting We Will Go" as they travel to the big Barn Dance. Horace picks up Clarabelle in his rickety motorcycle, and she rides in the wheelbarrow used as a sidecar. At the dance, Mickey and Minnie play "Turkey in the Straw" on piano and violin for an appreciative crowd of farm animals. The audience applauds, and the mice play "Pop Goes the Weasel". Mickey imaginatively uses a pail, a washtub and even Minnie's tail to play the song, but she does not appreciate his creativity and slaps his hand away. He then plays "Old Folks at Home" on harmonica, and tap dances. Minnie continue ...

Shindig (song)
"Shindig" is an instrumental by British group the Shadows, released as a single in September 1963. It peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Release and reception Unlike the majority of the Shadows' previous singles, recorded at EMI Studios, "Shindig" was recorded at the Jubilee Theatre in Blackpool whilst the group were on tour. It was written by Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch and was released with the B-side "It's Been a Blue Day", written by Brian Bennett. Reviewed in ''New Record Mirror'', "Shindig" was described as a "change of pace from their last one on this very infectious number from the Shadows. Probably the best and the most different they have made for a long time. The guitar sounds are different on this one, and fast tempo is maintained throughout without any major deviations. Catchy and commercial, watch out for it at the top of the charts". Don Nicholl for '' Disc'' write that it has "something of a Western flavour to it" and that it "may lack a little of the i ...

The Shadows
The Shadows (originally known as the Drifters) were an English instrumental rock group, who dominated the British popular music charts in the late 1950s and early 1960s, in the pre- Beatles era. They served as the backing band for Cliff Richard from 1958 to 1968, and have joined him for several reunion tours. The Shadows have had 69 UK chart singles from the 1950s to the 2000s, 35 credited to the Shadows and 34 to Cliff Richard and the Shadows. The group, who were in the forefront of the UK beat-group boom, were the first backing band to emerge as stars. As pioneers of the four-member instrumental format, the band consisted of lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar and drums. Their range covers pop, rock, surf rock and ballads with a jazz influence. The core members from 1958 to present are guitarists Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch and drummer Brian Bennett (who has been with the group since 1961) with various bassists and occasionally keyboardists through the years.
